Since 1998, I have been woodworking, making and installing cabinets and various types of woodwork, installing doors, windows, and locks, and assembling home furniture, beds, etc. I finally decided to start my own business and appreciate your trust and support in proving my professionalism.

"Meerwais is the sole proprietor and is very skilled. He promptly responded to my initial request for a project walk-through and completed my built-in pantry and kitchen shelf in a timely manner. It was high quality and I was pleased with the outcome. He was also friendly and professional."

"I am a repeat customer, so I knew the carpenter, Joe, coming in. I started by using their design contractor. I gave her the colors and ideas (beach theme, ceramic wood-look floor tiles), and she pulled the rest together. Invaluable because I can't trust my own taste. They removed a square shower in the corner and a set of shelves next to it, and glassed in that end of the room for a full shower. We put tile down along the whole room, with a recessed shower pan, and a linear drain against the wall. Joe built-in medicine cabinets, and trim all around the room, per my design pictures. The subs included a glass door guy, the plumber, the tiler, painter, and the countertop slab tiler. We also had some work done in our hallway. They removed the single boob light from the middle, and installed two recessed lights on either end, along with putting two switch boxes on either end of the hallway. Joe built a floor to ceiling cabinet in a 13” dead space at the end of the hallway, which included a laundry hamper on tracks, cubbies, and shelves. And then on a whim, I asked to have our old hallway linen cupboard doors replaced to match the new ones. We had two leaks during and after, but one reason I would use them again, is how they handled both times. One was a leak from the plug on the toilet supply. We found it on a Saturday morning, and I ended up waking up our carpenter with my text. He came out and figured it out and fixed it by 1. The other one was after everything was done and cleaned up, and we had paid for everything. The basement bathroom ceiling, fan, and wall below the master was wet one day, and we realized a joint in the pipe from the master toilet to the stack was slowly dripping between the two rooms. I texted Joe again, and he referred me to our GC, who came out with a plumber and fixed it. They had to make a hole in the downstairs drywall, so he has been coming back regularly to put three layers of mud on the new drywall. I was so sure that they would regretfully find that it wasn't their fault and we would have to deal with the cost and bother of finding a plumber and carpenter. Start to finish, it took about four months, but three weeks of that was the initial tile order, and another three for an incorrect tile order."

"Are, project manager for Finecraft, promised a 6 day finish time but took over 2 ½ weeks. Our oak floor was damaged when masking tape holding paper walkway was removed taking Swedish finish with it. We have stripes from front door to back door and have to have the entire floor screened and recoated costing us $2,000. Workers never communicated with us about problems that arose. They appear not to have been given appropriate equipment to cut the large porcelain tiles. They made repeated measuring/cutting errors so took several days to cut the 15 tile sections needed. The cut edges are ragged and in some cases, have chipped corners and were set unevenly. No one communicated that they were going to use an edge trim product other than porcelain for the edges nor that we could choose the color of that product. Someone just chose white rather than match the tile and it looks terrible around the edge of the shower and pony wall and particularly framing the shampoo niche. The shower floor tile was not cleaned of the excess grout and is dulled and coarse. The pieced-in floor tile between the toilet and new pony wall was done poorly with uneven spacing and will require removal and resetting to be remedied. We were very unhappy with the result and with the attitude taken by Ari the project manager minimizing the damage to the oak floor and the quality of the work. He lamented that the extra cost of plumbing work had reduced Finecraft s profit on the job even though his big sales pitch was that no change order costs would be charged if unexpected conditions were encountered. He overpromised on this project, did not provide the skilled workmen necessary and did not communicate sufficiently with us or with his workers as the job proceeded. In summary: this company did not do a quality job, failed to discuss options and problems as they arose, damaged an unrelated part of our house and was incapable of fixing its errors. We settled for $1000 off a total of $16000. That was not adequate compensation but we did not want this company working in our house any more."

As of April 2025, my wife and I decided to take the next step and become a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor as I transition out of the military via retirement. Prior to that, my wife and I have over 12 years of experience together doing fix and flips, fix and holds, working on our own properties, completing projects for family and friends, along with taking on side jobs. We are fully capable of any remodel, aided by our 4 employees and growing, plus our solid sub-contractors that we have used over the years after going through a few unreliable ones, so you don't have to! When working with Apex Home Solutions, you can count on consistent and clear communication, being a part of any decision point that arises, and have the peace of mind that timelines and budgets are managed responsibly. All of our employees go through an extensive background check. Reach out for your free estimate, you won't be disappointed with our finishes.

"I hired Apex Home Solutions to do a complete remodel of a bathroom in a duplex that I own. In addition to the bathroom, I had a soundproof wall installed between the two units, new flooring throughout and complete interior paint. Zach and his team did a fantastic job. They had to tear the bathroom down to the studs, due to rot; and rebuild the structure. The bathroom turned out beautiful. The old flooring was in bad shape which required removal, the floor leveled, and new flooring installed. It is now better than ever. Throughout the process which took about a month, Zach was just a text away. He would call with updates to let me know how things were coming along. He returned all communications within a few minutes. It could not have been an easier, smoother or a more enjoyable process. Best of all the unit looks fantastic and was rented immediately. Zach and his team were complete professionals that can be trusted to go above and beyond!"

We are a locally owned and operated company that values honesty and integrity and treats your home as if it were our own. Our services are customized to the individual project, paying close attention to the details of each project that we're involved with. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work as well as our commitment to outstanding results. We look forward to building lasting relationships and guaranteeing your satisfaction!

"Nick, owner of Quality Woodworking, built a stunning bathroom vanity for us—more like a handcrafted piece of fine furniture. I first met Nick when he was with a company handling an insurance claim at our home. I’m usually hands-on with repairs and wary of contractors, especially those tied to insurance work. But with a full-time job and four kids, I needed help—and Nick quickly earned my trust. His attention to detail, workmanship, and integrity put me at ease. Since then, I've hired him directly for multiple projects: trim throughout the house, LVP flooring, and subfloor repairs from bathroom leaks. He’s consistently exceeded our high expectations. Nick is punctual, communicates clearly, and keeps his workspaces spotless. He treats every job like it’s in his own home. If you want someone who truly cares about your project, hire Nick—you won’t be disappointed."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Tacoma, WA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.

The Tacoma, WA homeowners’ guide to major home repairs (general contractor)

From average costs to expert advice, get all the answers you need to get your job done.
