"I found Eric's Handyman Service through HomeAdvisor and I couldn't be more happy with the work that was done. Great communication through text and phone calls, absolutely listens to what you want done and recommends anything else you may not have thought about. I used Eric's Handyman service to repair the wooden fence around my house and build a new entry gate. All of the work was complete quickly and at the price we agreed on. Fantastic experience."

"Gary does awesome work! He completed the following tasks for me: installed a ceiling fan, repaired a light switch wiring connection, painted some exterior areas on my home that needed touch up painting, repaired a weather stripping over my garage door and installed two new shower sprayers. Gary is fair and honest. He doesn't tell you about things you don't need. I knew upfront what the costs would be. His work is quality and he does it in record time. All tasks were completed with my satisfaction. He is prompt and finishes when he says he will finish. I would definitely call Gary again for future projects."

"Blake gave me a bid to do the work, which we agreed to. The gazebos ended up being a much larger project than expected do to the lack of instructions from the manufacturer. Blake did not raise his bid. He is a man of his word, he did a great job and he is a pretty nice guy. Would definitely hire him again."

"I have hired Be Ayash several times now to perform general handyman work at my house. He is always professional. He is punctual, performs his job flawlessly, is polite, and quickly performs all needed tasks. He also quickly responds when I call or text him to hire for a new job. Be knows what he is doing, and he always leaves the house clean. I plan to continue hiring him in the future for whatever home repairs I need."

"Jaime did a great job on our stair replacement. He showed up at the time he provided for the job, made quick work of the repair and left the the work site very tidy when he was done. His pricing was reasonable and the repair is as good as new. We are very happy. I would absolutely recommend him and will consider him again when we need some work done on our home!"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Texas City, TX

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
