"My garage door spring broke Friday morning, so called at 8:30am and an appointment was set for between 9-11am. Matt sent a text stating his experience, and would be helping repair my garage door. He arrived around 9:10. The job was completed with an hour! He was very professional & knowledgeable and added some missing screws to my garage door that we did not even notice. This is a reliable company and recommend them for any garage door needs! I am 100% satisfied!!"

"You can trust all the great reviews for Crescent City Garage Door on Angie’s List. As many of the other reviews mention, they were very friendly, courteous, and professional. They untangled and tensioned the cables, got the door back on the rails, straightened some minor damage, adjusted the torsion spring and opener drive belt, and lubricated everything for $120. My garage door opens and closes more smoothly and quietly than ever before! If you like dealing with fair and honest people, give Crescent City a call when you need garage door service."

"Technicians examined my garage door and diagnosed the problems with it. They completed repairs the same evening and I had a brand new motor assembly which is quiet and working perfectly since. They do nice work."

"One of the springs broke recently on my garage door, which happened without warning and at a very inconvenient time. I called Patâ s, and they came out very quickly. The technician took one look at the broken spring and immediately saw that whoever changed springs the last time didnâ t put in the right size for my door! (I cannot remember who changed them previously, except it was NOT Patâ s!) The old springs were about 6â shorter than the correct ones which Patâ s installed. He said that garage springs usually last about 12 years under normal use. The wrong ones had failed after only 4 years or so! I was very impressed with Patâ s response time, service, knowledge, and price. I recommend them highly."

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in Tickfaw, LA

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
