Being able to send pictures to Eric made communication much easier and faster when trying to describe something we wanted changed. They properly installed an irrigation system with a shutoff valve, pressure regulator, automatic valve, back-flow prevention valve, filter and plenty of flush out end caps. Our family is extremely thrilled with the landscaping and our kids are especially excited about their bike racetrack!"

"The owner and one of his workers were great - fast, accurate, knowledgeable. The second worker was OK, but worked with a manual (!) pole saw on a cheap 6-foot ladder, so the work was maddeningly slow. The third guy occasionally picked up a fallen branch, but mostly texted unless I was there working with them. I never got a receipt for the work despite several requests for one. The following month I hired an actual tree climbing team: the man hours were about 30% more expensive, but they did an incredible amount of work in 4 hours with 3 guys, overall resulting in a much, much better value. I wish H/L Landscaping good luck: the owner clearly has expertise in landscaping and an excellent work ethic himself. Until all of his team lives up to that standard, however, clients will be paying in part for amateur work at professional grade rates."

"Communication should be better from Sean to us, and from Sean's workers to Sean, and from Sean's workers to us. On repeated occasions, his workers would tell us they would be here on such-and-such a day, at such-and-such a time, to take care of such-and-such things ... and then not show up. Nor did they call to tell us of the change. Now, one time they were at the sod harvesting location with a broken tractor/harvestor, apparantly out of cell phone range, so that wasn't their fault. But another time the fellow with the pickup truck who was to come and finish laying 30 more rolls of sod on a Thursday didn't show up until about a week later. We also were told that the workers would bring a trailor to pick up ALL the debris and haul it away, but instead of a larger trailor to take it ALL away, it was delegated to the guy with a pickup truck, and he couldn't fit it all in, and only made the one trip to the dump, so I was stuck with quite a bit of debris I had to deal with.on my own. Additionally, the crew leader told us twice that one of the crew would be back to power wash our cement driveway when they completed their job...that was not done. We furthermore had been told we would receive two somewhat larger rocks to be delivered by two of his workers for our front yard...but they have not arrived. And, the days after one of the vine-type vegetations was translplanted it died, and I notified Sean that a replacement needed to be transplanted in. That has not been done, either. It appears that the crew leader and Sean are not communicating with each other sufficiently. I gotta say, I like Sean, and his designs, and his plans; but I personally could not be in this business if I could not find a more professional crew leader to supervise better, and some (not all) better trained workers than the less-than-completing-the-assignment guys we experienced.  So, I'm giving this truthful but mixed review. For my tastes, I would not use them again as is. I hope Sean will succeed in his business, and I hope he can get quite a few working improvements in communication, completion, and crew leadership.
