"Steve and Ray came to our house the next day after we contacted them to see what would be necessary to locate the leak. We told them we had already contacted two other companies to come out and they could not find our leak. Steve told us they would not stop until they located the leak. It was a quoted charge and although they had to come back three different times for several hours they did not increase the charge! Steve told us this was one of the most difficult leaks to locate he had experienced. They did locate the leak and it is now repaired. "Alvin was careful to explain prior to starting work that if he required extra supplies, etc it would be on top of the Angie's price. Also, that there was the possibility that it would not be a simple replacement. I expected that. The replacement turned out to be more complicated than I'd anticipated.
The plumbing pipes for hose bibbs are installed between the vertical studs. There is supposed to be a horizontal cross brace that secures the "inside" part of the bibb  with 2 screws into the wood. Turns out, when the house was built in 1997, no cross bracing was added inside the wall, so the unsupported pipe had been shifting each time we turned the faucet on or off for the past 17 years. So, when he went to remove the outside portion, instead of "unthreading" as it should have,  the copper pipe broke off at the joint inside the wall. In order to complete the repair, Alvin needed to make an access port on the interior wall. He very carefully sawed an 8x8" piece out of the drywall, added a wood cross brace to the existing framing, secured the plumbing pipe to it, then attached the new hose bibb on the outside. After completing the repair, he carefully re-fitted the piece to the wall and used some caulk I had to cover the seam.
We were charged only for the difference in supplies, not for the additional time involved, which I was grateful for. I was also relieved that we had decided to have this done. I hate to think about some day going out to turn the hose on or off and have a fountain inside the wall.
I felt he handled the situation very well, explaining to me along the way what the problem was and how he would fix it.

"The technician arrived promptly.  We walked through the house to look at what was to be done, and I provided him with a written list (which I never saw again). The actual patching was very well done, but the texturing on about half the patches was not very good. I felt the need to remind the technician about some of the patches, and I had to touch up about three of the deeper patches later. Cleanup was reasonably well done with a broom and dustpan, except for one of the patches where there were bits of old drywall left on the floor. After I vacuumed, all was again in order.  I had the feeling that the quality of cosmetic work became lower as time went on.
In summary, the structural part of the patches was very well done, but the cosmetic part of the job was not.

"All in all the company did an good job. They were able to go out, and repair the problem promptly. I would use their services again. My one frustration was that they made it difficult to get an estimate. The woman in the office indicated that it would probably be cheaper to just have them go out and fix it. I offered to agree to a price limit and asked if they would send me something in writing that said they would stop if it was going to be over $300 so we could re-evaluate. She stated they did not have email or a fax and could send me nothing in writing. I thought this was unprofessional and sort of ridiculous. The price turned out to be $220 and the service was good. However, I found the lack of email or fax frustrating because it was for a property that I own where I am not in the same town. If they had charged me an outrageous price I might have had no legal recourse. I think it is just sort of a small town shop. However, they were prompt, they fixed the problem, and I thought the price was reasonable. They just want you to trust them without any kind of formal agreement. I did that only because I had seen good recommendations on Angie's List. I would use their service again based on their last performance. They did follow through with what we verbally agreed to."

"It was ok. I liked them. But where I expected two trained electricians who could work independently or together. There was one electrician and someone to hand him tools. Only about 60% of the work I expected to get done was done. Also, I hadn't read the fine print about getting the materials in advance ... and I would not have known what to get which also wasted our time.
He was a hard worker but this wasn't the 'deal' I expected."
