"We had previously used Art Woodstone 10 years earlier when we asked them to build extensive bookcases and cabinets when we finished our basement. When it came time this year to redo our main floor we turned to Tea and George again to do a slightly smaller but unique project to build two wall bookcases that would connect to a fireplace mantle and then two moveable wooden dog crates to fill in the space below the bookcases and to either side of the hearth. From a rough sketch of what the finished concept would look like, they were able to produce a beautiful custom set. It matched our vision exactly. They worked with our primary contractor's lead carpenter to ensure the piece would have good anchoring in the studs behind the drywall. I cannot speak highly enough of their craftsmanship. The bookcase and mantlepiece are beautiful pieces of wood and spectacular to look at. The dog crates are beyond exceptional. The careful work George did to ensure tight joins at the corners and the wooden slats was stunning. Our lead carpenter from the renovation was deeply impressed by the work. As an add on to this effort, they also restored a large wooden partner's desk that has been in our family for over 50 years. Over that time the desk had it's finish worn away in spots, was sunbleached in others, and had corners gnawed on by puppies in the day. They took that shabby mess of a desk and restored to a shine and gleam that is something to behold. AWS is worth every penny that you will pay for their work. True artisans with an eye for detail and a feel for design. Would recommend them EVERY time."

"Excellent work, very high quality. When Rick Hall came for the estimate, he suggested several changes to the scope of work and some of the colors I'd picked out. The end result was a home that looks much better than it would have if he had simply performed the work as I originally asked. His suggestions really make a big difference. Amazingly, they did more work as a result of the suggested changes but ended up doing the work for less than competitors had quoted. The drywall work is also excellent quality. My new home theater looks amazing. I'm extremely happy with the work and highly recommend Hall's Drywall and Painting.

"Nelson was professional, courteous and friendly from beginning to end. We contacted several people for estimates. Some were way over our budget and others came across as not wanting the job. Nelson was prompt to return an estimate and his price seemed fair. He also came across as a genuinely nice, responsible and hard-working contractor.
When we signed the contract, Nelson said he would start work on July 1st, and sure enough, he was ready to go on July 1. Before the start date, he and his architect took care of the blueprints and permitting process through the city. We were responsible for providing most of the finish materials (tile, toilet, sink, vanity, lights). Nelson took care of the rest.
The renovation took a month, and Nelson and his crew (usually one or two additional workers) worked hard and and kept the space neat. He did most of the work himself, with the exception of having a plumber do the rough-in for the new bathroom and a painter do all the drywall finish work and painting.
As with any renovation, there were some surprises along the way. The city inspector required a new electrical box and hard-wired smoke detectors on each level. Nelson took care of this extra expense as cost-effectively as possible. He was very responsive to our changes and suggestions.
We were very happy with Nelson and would use him again for any future renovations.

"Jon and his entire team at Loudoun Custom Coatings were simply phenomenal throughout the process. From the quick estimate, to providing all services within a very constrained timeline, to the quality of work---they were AWESOME. I've used a lot of contractors with multiple rental houses, and I will never use anyone else but Loudoun Custom Coatings in the future. I use Angie's List exclusively to find contractors, and Loudoun Custom Coatings is A++ across the board. Very reasonable prices for outstanding quality of work.

"These guys redid the master bathroom, our basement bathroom, and renovated the h*** out of my townhouse so I could sell it. They put in all new carpeting and tile in the kitchen, new counters, new lighting, and painted everything. They also fixed a plumbing problem found in the pre-sale home inspection.
I can't say enough good about these guys! The only problem I had is sometimes they weren't quite as punctual as I had hoped they would be, but also they stayed late to finish some jobs correctly. I plan to use them again when I renovate my condo.
Also, I hired them to come with me during the inspections of properties I was thinking of buying. They saved me from buying a property with a collapsing and improperly supported floor. Recommend them for this type of work, too!

"Amazing job, from start to finish. The complete project took about 10 days, however most of that was delays due to material decisions on my part. Ahmed was the first contractor to return a quote, showed up on time, offered suggestions to the design that saved money. His team arrived on time for scheduled installation, worked weekends, were cognizant of my need to use the bathroom during the remodel and completely surpassed my expectations. Ahmed provided services above and beyond what I originally requested in the quote, yet his service charged didn't increase, just the material costs which were my choice. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I intend to use him again on the next remodel project without a doubt. Please don't be put off by the accent, or the different way he does business including the contract element- the guy knows what he's doing and will get the job done. I trusted him with access to my house during working hours and had no problems at all throughout the entire project. When you hire him, he is a part of the project from start to finish, unlike other contractor companies I've used in the past. "
