"Two old shower pulls were hard to work and one leaking profusely. Also, water heater not making lots of hot water and 12 years old. Asked for a flush and recommendation for replacement. Tech showed up on time and ready to work. Rebuilt pulls quickly and knowledgeably. Attempted to flush water heater but too far gone. Showed me work done and patiently listened to and answered all my questions concerning replacement options. Gave me a good deal on new water heater and was available and ready to install same day. Completed the installation cleanly and efficiently. Couldn’t be happier with the experience. Tech (I’m sorry, I don’t remember his name) was professional and courteous and worked efficiently. Prices are fair and their use of a standardized pricing guide eliminated any feeling that they were pricing on the fly. Two thumbs up."

"Company responded quickly to inquiry and was on-site within 24hrs. Received high water bill 5x -6x the normal usage with no visible signs of a leak. Concealed leak was found behind exterior wall. Repaired quickly same day. An additional leak was also found on the city’s curbside of the meter due to recent change out to digital meter that was not installed correctly as valve and washers where not replaced. The real customer service was received by owner Danny who provided additional information being requested by insurance company as a claim was filed due to the water damaged caused by the concealed leak at slab/foundation level."

"We have had a horrible time with other providers regarding our water softener. This company was the only one to give us good advice and free of charge. If we would have called them the first time we would have definitely used their services instead of wasting our money on other providers that were useless. This company helped us by giving us free advice and tips on how we can fix the issues ourselves if we wanted to. They came out the same day and even followed up the next day.

"They have done several jobs for us very satisfactorily. But the last time I called, we had a non-routine problem (some lights would go out when large appliances were turned on) in the summer, but not in the winter. On November 21, 2013, a Theta electrician came, but off our scheduled time so he had to deal with my wife - a good nurse, but not acquainted with electrical affairs. When I got home and saw the invoice, I was surprised by a charge for analysis @ $200 in addition to the service call charge of $49. Based on his analysis, he proposed to upgrade our new 100 Amp Service to 150 Amp service for a charge of $1,672. He also referred to "additional work" in the kitchen, at a price tbd and to change the aluminum service wire, again at a price tbd. I could not figure out how upgrading to 150 Amp service was going to address out problem. Winter came and the problem seemed to disappear. But again, as summer came the dimming began again. This time, I called the power company, Duke Electric. As soon as the Duke man parked and examined the outside (Duke system) he informed me that there was a corrosion problem in the drop line from the pole to the house. The wires were aluminum, had been installed over 40 years ago, and had corroded at each end. In about an hour, he had respliced 4 terminals - 2 at our house and 2 at the pole - and the problem had disappeared. We did not need the 100 Amp service replaced, nor did we need kitchen and service line rework after all. If we had followed Theta's advice, we probably would have spent over $2,500 and the problem would not have been solved. Grade F for the $200 analysis!"

FAQs for water heater repair or service projects in Trilby, FL

Warning signs include fluctuating water temperatures, a pilot light that repeatedly goes out, unusual noises from the tank, or complete heating failure. You might also detect a rotten egg smell, indicating a potential gas leak, or notice water that never reaches the proper temperature. If your water heater is over eight years old and displaying these symptoms, the gas valve is a likely culprit. Professional inspection is recommended, especially if gas odors are present.

Water heater gas valves are not universally interchangeable. Each valve must match your specific water heater's make, model, and specifications. Important compatibility factors include gas type (natural gas vs. propane), BTU rating, connection types, and physical dimensions. Using an incorrect valve can result in poor performance, premature failure, or dangerous gas leaks. Always consult your water heater's documentation or a professional plumber to identify the appropriate replacement valve for your unit.
