"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"The project went very well although we were interrupted by the beginning of Covid-19. There was still a lot of confusion over necessary precautions at that time. I spoke to the owner, Chuck Leo, and he was willing to do whatever would make us comfortable. We ended up delaying the project after it was half completed. This was an inconvenience for them and us but we needed to be extra careful due to some health concerns. They just completed the remodel with the details listed below. It was a tricky project as we had already put in a new floor, shower/tub, and toilet a few years back, so the plan had to work with that. We wanted to save the lovely Italian floor tiles, if possible, but pieces needed to be added. The plan was to remove a linen closet from the hallway outside the bathroom which essentially took up potential valuable bathroom space. We decided gaining "real estate" in the bathroom was well worth losing that hallway closet. That gave us the opportunity to add a double sink with extra counter space. Another challenge was to add double medicine cabinets into the existing wall which was (weirdly) made out of wood. That also made it more complicated to add light sconces between and on the sides of the two cabinets. HSP rose to every challenge. Rose, the office assistant, the lead carpenter, the plumber, the electrician, and the drywallers were professional and quick to respond to any questions we had. Chuck was super helpful in reviewing some of the choices I made, such as the Moen faucets we had installed. I really appreciated having their help in comparing products as they definitely have the expertise. They had me pick out the cabinets and counter material from A1 Kitchen and Bath in Omaha and that worked out beautifully. A1 took the measurements and created a beautiful built-in for us. I took a piece of the tile with me when I first visited and was able to find the perfect match for the countertop and cabinets/drawers. We feel the end product is beautiful and that the look blends in perfectly with the period of the house. The medicine cabinets are shaped like the awning windows and everything just goes together very well. Patrick, the lead carpenter, did a super job fitting the few extra pieces of the Italian tile I had saved to cover the gap where the linen closet had encroached into the bathroom. You would never know what a crazy design had been replaced with this new look that is what should have always been there. It really was a job well done and I would definitely work with HSP again!"

"Service One was a subcontractor when we had two of our bathrooms completely remodeled. They had the same plumber come out for the multiple days we needed someone during a three month project. He moved all the plumbing and installed all new fixtures. He was responsive and we could not be happier with our interactions and work completed."

"These guys are the gold standard in Omaha for residential electric as far as I'm concerned. I have been using them for many years. Their work is great, they're fast and and their prices are extremely fair, in my opinion. I hesitate to say how long the guy was at my house for just charging me very little. He has to come back on the oven---my doing, not his---so he knocked the bill down, a lot more than he had to. I don't really know what other electricians charge, just think Roberts Electric is very reasonable. They are coming to a small commercial building I own tomorrow (6/25) to place a smaller amount of metal wall channeling over romex, replace five outlets, put in five separate GFI outlets, install a new fixture I bought, remove two other fixtures, check yet another one, and fix the doorbell, all for $375. Most of Gary's electricians have been with him for many years---I think that tells you a lot. And you don't see a different guy every time they come to the house. I wouldn't switch electricians on a bet. Mike Butkus, Ralston"

"Dan Fliam and Aabex are the real deal. Dan is extremely professional and quality conscious. His ability to repair window sashes saved a fortune over replacing the windows. His price for window repair was extremely fair and lower than any other proposal I had. Carpentry work very precise. For the painting, price was competitive with other bids. The difference is the quality and attention to detail. Scraping, priming all done thorough before two coats of paint. Experienced crew and Dan personally inspects job andmakes sure quality is to his standards. <br /> He's very busy but worth any wait. I plan to have him back next year for interior painting work. <br />"

"He replaced the tub and shower surround in an upstairs bathroom.  He worked hard for three days, replacing the wall behind the tile with cement board, too.  He was extremely tidy, cleaning up every bit of scrap and grout.  I'm extremely pleased with the job and would have him back again."

"I contacted Mark and he came out on an free initial call to see what was needed. After he gave me an estimate I called him back and he made a return visit to be sure of the materials needed and listened carefully to what I wanted done. Because I am getting new gutters, Mark and I agreed that he did not have to replace the section of gutter he removed. At this time he schedules his work about 10 days ahead. I approached him about other needed repairs and he did not hesitate to tell me if it was beyond his capability (such as handling long gutters). On his work day, after removing a section of gutter he replaced the fascia, repaired the chimney, put trim around the drip edges of the siding and calked all seams. He worked safely, competently, and neatly."

"Extremely professional.  Bob came out and gave us a quote for replacing the shower in our second floor master bathroom that was leaking into the floor below.  Bob walked me through the process and gave us a quote, he did say his quote might be higher than most but that the quality of work would be the best.  I was very impressed with Bob, and scheduled the work.  Bob's crew showed up as scheduled and we very friendly.  As the work progressed we decided that the best option for us would be to actually re-do the whole bathroom.  Although we had originally planned on doing the shower only which was scheduled for 8 days, they took our request for additional work right in stride and stayed working on the bathroom until it was completely done.  Paul, who was the main person working on the project was very helpful with ideas and improvements as the project continued.  The project took almost a week longer than anticipated but that was only because of the changes that we made, Bob's crew was here every day until the project was done.  We couldn't be happier with the finished project, the only problem we have now is deciding what project to have Bob and his team start on next. <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Underwood, IA

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
