"Clifton "Ricky" repaired the drywall where my father had a wheelchair and damaged the corners of the doorways. Ricky then painted all the walls, ceilings and trim. We had carpet being layer so he only had 6 days to complete it. Then when the carpet was laid the carpet layers damaged the new paint on trim and Ricky came in with no extra charge and repainted the trim the other workers damaged. He was not only more reasonable then the other quotes, but we have already called him to do some plumbing repair."

"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"We chose Momper to insulate our 60-year-old brick Cape Cod home. It took two men two days to complete the work, and they returned at a later date (when the weather warmed a bit) to fill in the holes in the mortar between the bricks. <br /> The workers were polite and knowledgeable, and they (as well as the estimator) were very good at answering any questions we had. We received quotes on three areas of our home and opted to do the two we thought would give us the best return on our investment. <br /> We applied for a NIPSCO rebate and they've been helpful in providing needed info for that, as well. Would definitely recommend them to others in the area who are looking for home insulation. <br /> <br />"

"They pressure washed the walls and windows. Replaced wooden sidings that were too damaged to paint. Repaired woodpecker and critter damage on wood siding. Painted exterior: window frames, wooden siding, faux stucco, garage doors, patio doors, sunroom windows. They did a wonderful job. It's been about 10 months and the house still looks perfect. Thank you! <br />"

"If you're looking for a contractor that stands behind the quality of their work you might want to rethink hiring Dreamscapes Home Improvements. Dreamscapes charged me $800 for a new chimney flashing when they installed my new roof in August of 2015. In October of 2018, the first time I had been in my attic since the installation of my new roof, I noticed that the roof had been leaking for some time on the north side of my chimney as the plywood was heavily stained in the area of the leak. I believe a new roof should remain leak free for longer than 3 years so I called Joel at Dreamscapes. He came out and made a cursory inspection of the chimney, but didn't find an obvious cause of leak. He said he would come back the following Friday with his son to do a more extensive search for the cause of the leak and make a correction to a section of the flashing was that was sagging in the center. Like I said that was in October of 2018, this is August of 2019. I haven't heard from anyone at Dreamscapes since that day and they haven't responded to any of my communications. I believe that I have since found the cause of the leak myself. Things seem to be staying dry at least for now. The problem I found I was where the mason that had previously rebuilt my chimney left a dime sized void that should have been filled with mortar allowing rain to get behind the bricks. I would have been willing to pay Dreamscapes for finding and making that repair since it had nothing to do with the work they had done, but they completely blew me off. The point I'm trying to make is; if you're looking for a contractor who will stand behind his work and make a warrantee repair for you when things go wrong, this isn't the guy you want."

"Except for the installers being a bit later than expected, they were very good. Introduced themselves, explained the process, got right to work, and cleaned up. Adam and Richard are very good at what they do."

"I hired a neighbor to do a general repair of the exterior of my house as needed. As he worked through problems he stopped and pointed out the reason for facia and soffit paint problems - my gutters were rotten and leaking badly. As this was well beyond the scope of minor repairs I asked for advice and Seamless Restoration was recommended as a strong performer on the Angie's Listings. <br />  I called and they replied in person within just a couple of days. We did a walk around to examine all gutters and discussed  what needed to be replaced and what was perfectly usable as-is. The front of the house was left alone as it is working well. The back and sides were replaced.  The areas where the work needed to be done was explained, along with an explanation of the damage that was being caused by the leaking gutters. I'm not technical and the chat was handled at a level I understood. <br /> We scheduled the replacement, the workers showed up on time, dressed appropriately, with the correct tools and materials. They finished the work within the time estimated. The gutters and downspouts look straight and proper, nothing leaks and even following the heavy snows and ice I have no problems. <br /> Seamless Restoration was able replace only the gutters that needed to be replaced - there was no insistence on replacing <br /> everything and the workers were able to attach the new gutters to existing and there are no leaks. <br /> I would recommend Seamless restoration to anyone needing gutter replacement. <br />"

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Union, MI

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
