"We hired 2nd Generation Tile & Stone to install our backsplash for our kitchen. Upon arriving, Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. Ideas were shared and he guided us in the right direction to give us the best product. We used his ideas to modify our backsplash to give us exactly what we wanted. The installation was very smooth and organized. Once backsplash was set and grouted, Mike went over and beyond to leave our kitchen cleaner than it was before he started. Not only is Mike a master at his craft, but he is a great guy and very personable. Overall, all of our expectations were succeeded! We would recommend 2nd Generation to all of our friends and family."

"Whereas I like the carpet and flooring, the new baseboards were painted (not a good job) by an unlicensed contractor they subcontracted with. They did credit me $100 however, I was stuck with the mess. We had called after we signed the contract and asked to replace the baseboards in the room that they put the new carpet in. They did not follow through and said we never called to add that to the order. Being out of town during installation, we had no idea things were not going exactly as we planned. I feel the owner and staff are rather condescending. They had an excuse for everything. It was a frustrating experience."

"We had to replace out existing granite counter top after trying to get the old dishwasher out  to be able to get the new one installed.   After that piece of granite cracked all over, we just decided to get new.  Not that we could afford it.  We got Sunwest's name from AZ Tile. I faxed over measurements to approximately 3 companies, and Matt was the "only company" to respond back to me.  He mentioned he had a slab left over from a previous job (remnant) and wanted us to take a look at it.   We met with Matt on Saturday and although the slab was very nice it didnt really go with what we had in mind.  BUT!  There was another slab that caught our eye.  Matt checked and it was available.   We said "do it" on the spot.
Matt even came over to the house to do the measurements that very day.   A week later it was installed and it looks ...............................................................................................................................................................   F A B U L O U S"

"Setting up the appointment with Home Solutionz for the initial appointment was super easy and they were even able to get me in next day which was very helpful being that I was on a tight schedule. Joe our consultant was friendly and very helpful. Home Solutionz brings the flooring to your house so you can see how it looks with your furniture and paint colors which was very helpful. It was so easy to select my flooring because they had a website that mapped the flooring into my room. When at my house I had them give me estimates on my tile and carpet. They offered installation 2 days later and the installation process was so easy and fast. They moved and replaced all the old flooring and furniture in our rooms. Can’t beat their lifetime warranty. My experience all the way around was outstanding. I would highly recommend Home Solutionz for flooring to my friends and family. Next on my list of projects is my countertops and I can’t wait to have my budget in order to have Home Solutionz come back!"

"Very well. An old-style tub was removed, and in its place CKBR designed an installed a modern spa-like shower. We also replaced the carpeted bathroom with tile, put in new cabinets and lighting, and added a marble countertop."

"Trades Unlimited came out and quickly identified a source of my leak (though they later found an additional source once they started work). I have to give them credit for this, because I also had a roofer look at the problem and they thought the leak was elsewhere. The gentleman from Trades Unlimited told me where to look in my attic to confirm where the actual leak was, and he was correct. Although I thought their original bid was high, they gave 10% off that price. I originally planned to have the leaks at the gable (attic) vents fixed, but once that repair was done, the workers discovered an additional leak above my sliding glass door. The superintendent stated that he charged me several hundred less than their normal fee for this additional repair. Their communication of how the repair would proceed and how long it would take was clear and consistent. Two men showed up to do the work; both were friendly and respectful. The repairs took three days. They told us up front that they would not be able to exactly match the texture on our stucco, but they would do their best. After finishing the work they cleaned up most of their mess, but did leave a fair bit of old stucco laying around. They were not very careful in covering our brick patio with drop cloths, so I'm still trying to clean a couple of spots. Also, when they were spraying water on the house to locate the source of leaking (several times) so much water saturated the drywall above my door that chunks fell off; they did not offer to repair this, so I have another repair to do now... As they warned me, the stucco finish is not a very close match to the surrounding stucco although I watched them do it and know they tried several times. I have had painters look at it and say that it is not a difficult pattern to match; I would suggest that Trades Unlimited find a good stucco person for that aspect of their business. Bottom line: I'm thrilled that the leaks are fixed, and I avoided having the wrong thing fixed multiple times before resolving the issue. As they advertise, they were able to find and fix the leak. Considering that their prices are not cheap, I would have expected their quality to carry over into the details as well (stucco texturing and job site cleanup). While I don't think they were obligated to fix the drywall that became damaged, I think that this was a missed opportunity to excel in customer service."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Valley-farms, AZ

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
