"I highly recommend these folks. They are professional and caring. They've remodeled two bathrooms, built a deck, and completed repair work after a water back up in my laundry room. They care about meeting the customers needs. Easy to work with and very responsive."

"Design Doctors is a great group to work with. Justin responds to emails and texts in a timely manner. Justin designed and created a unique gate to block a steep stairway. He was extremely collaborative and we made multiple adjustments to the plan as it was developed. When my husband was unexpectedly hospitalized, he installed grab bars by the toilet in the master bath (and installed a bidet, which required a new electrical outlet) and built a ramp in a tight window of time, enabling me to bring my husband home as soon as he was discharged. Both projects were of excellent quality. I have a fused bamboo deck, and Justin researched the correct material for cleaning and re-staining it. His team member did an excellent job. I wanted to change my range from gas, and he coordinated everything to remove the old range, cap the gas line, add a new electrical circuit, and install my new range. He also installed an exhaust through my roof for my fans in the bath and kitchen. I needed more insulation, and he arranged a licensed company to install it. I had a malfunctioning sump pump, and Justin was able to send me a plumber to replace it quickly. Justin Ross and his company are simply outstanding!"

"The salesman was very informative and walked me through the whole process. I felt very comfortable with the quality of the supplies as explained to me and the 50 year warranty. Great presentation. The only glitch was a delay in receiving and reviewing the electronic copy of the contract. Initially I was unable to open the contract document. It may have had something to do with the age of my computer. The crew showed up and they worked very hard until the job was finished and only took a short lunch, which was more like a break. They cleaned up the job site very well. Good job guys. The project foreman came the very next day and inspected the job site. Great follow up and information. Thumbs up to all involved."

"Well, it's fixed. A learning experience ? get many bids and make sure the company wants your business. Pros ? Technicians were polite and respectful of my home while I worked in meetings all day. ? The pooling water issue in the basement was resolved, and the floor is now dry; the work was ultimately completed. ? Initial estimate visit was free, but not thorough ? Senior staff came out later to apologize and review the work. Cons ? Pricing was far higher than industry norms based on later bids. ? Avoidable scope changes and price increases after work began; two other plumbers said the job could have been done as originally quoted. ? Communication issues (delayed quotes, unclear explanations, forgotten site details). ? Work quality/finishing didn?t match the premium price; two professionals asked if we had done the work ourselves. Added pictures because I don't know plumbing, so you decide if you'd want this. ? Extra fees add up: 10% financing fee (Synchrony) and 4% credit card fee."

"Phil did an excellent job with moving my gas line in kitchen to new location. He started on time, walked me through the different options to install the new line, and installed a new line with a shut off valve with exceptional quality. He also inspected the line to make sure there are no leaks after the install. I highly recommend Phil and D&F plumbing."

"John removed an old sink and bath tub from one bathroom, and an old shower from another, replacing them all with new items. He replaced old flooring with new tile, and also tiled the walls around the tub and shower. He had to build a new wall to enclose the new tub. In addition, the job required some plumbing, and some excavation of an old pipe. <br /> This was at my son's house, and John was very accommodating of my son's inexperience in home remodeling. expalining everything, and giving recommendations, and helping him makedecisions. <br />"

"I work for a property management company that has been using Clear Water most of this year while it's been difficult finding new hires for our own in-house maintenance crew. They have been knocking jobs out of the park left and right for us. Appreciate their timeliness, communication, fair pricing and hard work."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Vancouver, WA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
