"I had a great experience with Capitol Chimney. I called them for a chimney inspection because I had the plumbing company come out and check the boiler and other than needing a new damper motor (which they replaced), they said the boiler was fine. So after about a week, my boiler was still blowing hot air into the laundry room through the spill switch vent due to the backdraft from the chimney. This was the beginning of January and we were going to have a week of freezing temperatures and everyone was super busy. I called Capitol Chimney and they were nice enough to fit me in for a chimney inspection. Abraham and Carlos came out and were very friendly and explained everything about the chimney showing me the pictures of inside the chimney also explaing that I needed a chimney liner to fix the problem. They were very professional and made me feel like it was one of my friends talking to me. I appreciate good customer service as that is just as important as the quality of the work if not more so. I set up an appointment with Diana. She is fantastic! She knows a lot about chimneys, just as much as one of the techss! She was really great on the phone and I felt at ease with her and she kept me updated on where the truck was as well as all the email paperwork sent back and forth. Great customer service from her as well! Very important. So my appointment day to replace the chimney liner came and they were able to show up very early! Joaquin and Augustino were very nice and professional and such hard workers! I was curious how a chimney liner was installed and watched them do some of the work. It is very time consuming and hard work as there is a lot of cutting involved and work on the outside as well as the inside and the chimney cap looks so good that my neighbor said it is the nicest one on the block. HAHA! They really took the time to put the tarp down in the laundry room and were vacuuming the whole time they were working. In fact, the laundry room was cleaner after they left! Joaquin explained how the 'T' worked in the pipes and we tested the boiler and hot water heater and everything worked great. I am really happy with their work. In fact, I am happy with the whole process from beginning to end. It has been over a month now and the boiler is actually working better than it did before. "I initially contacted Richard earlier in 2011, and he came to my house quickly and provided an estimate. My BF met with Richard and two other contractors, and he was most impressed by Richard. The three quotes I received all identified vary different scopes of work, which made it difficult for me to figure out what I needed to do. At the same time, I was having a lot of internal work done on my house (a 1970 brick townhouse), so I postponed the brick work to finish the interior work. I again contacted Richard later in 2011, and he came out to re-inspect the chimney, and I indicated to him the additional masonry work I needed on the front of the house due to water intrusion. We agreed on the scope of work and price and he started the work as soon as he finished his existing job(s) and the weather allowed. Despite my brick having been long out of production, he was able to find bricks that are almost identical to my brick. He showed up as promised. Once he started the work, he was at my house every day until it was completed. He had to set up scaffolding and there was no damage resulting from setting it up and taking it down. We are very pleased with the quality of his work and his price. We highly recommend Richard."
