"Christian Rodriguez and Kyle Martin did a great job installing a perimeter drainage system for us. They were both professional and courteous. Christian and Kyle also made sure that we understood the job they performed and that we were pleased with the results. Thanks!"

"At this point, I’m not sure what the appointment was for, but we’ve used them several times before for our heating/air conditioning annual service and maintenance and most of the time they did a good job. Once, they had to return after some sewer line maintenance to tighten up a ‘cap’ they had installed to replace the worn out existing one because of some minor leakage which they corrected. A minor issue."

"Both gentlemen were very friendly, nice and polite. One gentleman was a smoker, but he picked up all his butts before he left and did not smoke in either the truck, the house or near anyone. I found this remarkable and would like to be able to say thank you personally. The initial quote for the job was also very well done. The person that came out was professional, showed up on time, and explained all steps (including why the basement was leaking and how they would fix it). Over-all I would highly recommend B-Dry to anyone."

"Given estimate/price of $300. Told they would stop by at a later date and install. I was a smaller project and would fit in when they were in the area working on another project,, and then I would be billed. That is what happened."

"They installed 5 plates against the wall and attached them to the other side of the driveway where they drilled down. It pulled the wall back up and all is secure and lifetime warranty that is transferable. Happy with results."

"They dug and drilled seven holes, which stabalized the footings. Replace the concrete where the pillars were installed. The job went well and the crew was very professional through out the j. If I ever need this rvice again, they will be the first to be called."

"I would tell others that he was really quick. I called that evening because I had water spilling into my basement and the plumbing pipes to it were old and rusty. He came out close to 11 o’clock at night, but could not do anything then. He had the new pressure tank and everything for me the next day, so I have always had a good experience Mr. Rooter. The guy that came out here was real nice. My experience with him has been excellent. I thought that the price was fair."

"Lanz was the highest of 4 quotes from local plumbers when I was looking to have multiple plumbing jobs completed, including the purchase and installation of a new water heater. I went with Lanz on the water heater only because they were quick to respond and were able to install it 2 days after my request. The Lanz rep, Ken, was very professional. On installation day, he had a younger guy helping him who seemed to struggle quite a bit and scratched up some furniture while bringing the new water heater in. He also left a large pipe in the yard that I had to dispose of. I chose to go with the least expensive water heater and still paid $1439.21 with Lanz. Others were significantly lower in price, but definitely not as quick to respond or schedule."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Villa Grove, IL

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
