"Dan came out and found and fixed the leak in the system; replaced all missing heads and fixed whatever else was wrong with our system. He also prepared it to be turned on for the summer. Everything was working great! He was very nice and showed me where things were broken and I watched as he fixed them. He patiently answered all of my questions. So, when it came time to turn on the system as he had taught me and it didn’t come on, I called Star Sprinkler immediately! They came out and looked the system over & immediately found & fixed the issue. The best part of all of this is...they are affordable, professional and pleasant. "Most of their work is excellent, but there are problems, and they are overpriced, to the extent of price-gouging. They installed a sprinkler system at our home 10 years ago, and for the most part it went well, but they wired the system in to the light fixture in the garage, which of course meant that when we turned the garage light off, the system shut down. They came out and fixed the problem, but tried to charge us extra for it (a lot!), even though it was their own dumb error. We have had an annual service contract with them since then ($495 to turn it on in the spring and shut down in the fall). When the controller failed a few years ago, we received a very hefty bill ($400.00) for replacing it. The last straw came when I attempted to have the rain sensor replaced last August. The sensor failed years ago, and the service man kept saying that it would be replaced under warranty, but he never did; he finally said that the front office kept deleting the repair order. Finally the front office said they would replace it, and it would cost $230. I bought the identical rain sensor online for $61, put it in myself in 5 minutes, and it works perfectly now. I have now contracted with a different company (one that got all A's on Angie's List) to do start-up and shut-down at less than half of Sharkey's price."

"The owner answered and said he'd be here by 1:30. He was early and that was great. He quoted me a price to clear the clog and sell me a new cap for my clean out. He explained what he was doing and how to prevent it from happening again. I would use them again in the future if I need a plumber. The price was a lot less then the big name companies quoted me. I am very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber in the area. Cost was $175 for clog and $10 for a new steel cap. $197.30 with taxes"

"This was the fourth service I called because the others didn't come out to give an estimate as promised. The first time I called Cenova,I talked to an actual person. He said the person that I needed to speak with wasn't there, but he would be given a message to call me. An hour later, Joseph Kumpf called me back. He came out within two hours and took a look at the tree. Within a day, he gave me a written estimate which he put through my mail slot on his way to work. I called him that day and he came down after lunch to get a down payment. He said at that time it would probably be about a week and a half before the work could be done, but he would call me to confirm a date. He called me the next day to say that he had to reschedule a job, so he could do the work in three days. The work crew got there when they were supposed to and got right to work. They did a great job. Joseph dropped by like he said he would to make sure everything was going OK. The work crew did a great clean up job."

"Called late in the season, which of course is my fault, and was given an appt. within the next few days. The serviceman showed up on time and got right to work. Took care the winterization in short order. I had to pay over the phone via credit card, which I generally don't like to do, and then was never sent a receipt or confirmation. Minor gripe, but after a transaction over the phone I would have really appreciated the reciept that I was promised."
