"Jimmy came out and was very personable. Spent 10 minutes looking at the job, and then promised a quote. I called back two weeks later and he mumbled something and promised a quote. Two weeks later and nothing. If you are too busy - just say so - don't string customers along so you have business down the road. My doorway is completely nonfunctional and I expressed a need for some speed. I really would far rather have written a review about the great work - but I am searching for a new contractor. It usually takes 4-10 weeks to get a custom door in, so now I am looking at January/February rather than December like we would have been talking if I had gotten some timely responses. I have no idea how good his work is - for those who eventually do get serviced it seems like it was acceptable. I do notice all the good reviews are WELL over a year old... he was actually a really nice guy. Hate writing these reviews - but I would hate it even more if I am waiting here because other people had the same experience and decided not to share... I think the "fair" rating of 3 is a early Christmas gift given my experience. Essentially - nothing has been done on my project for nearly six weeks while I waited for... nothing"

"Tom did an excellent job.  I saw his work at a neighbors home and was impressed.  Tom took the time to work with me.  He reviewed quality of paints, price options, and schedule for work. The prep work on the walls (sanding, repairing dings, etc.) was excellent.  It was nice to have the estimate for work prepared, presented and performed by the owner of the business instead of a sales/marketing rep.  I would recommend Tom to anyone needing quality interior painting.

"Ripwood Customs LLC (Brian & Josh) is exceptional. They brought back to life a 25-plus-year-old deck and porch. They demoed, cleaned, rebuilt the deck, rescreened the porch, and trimmed all to perfection. Their craftsmanship is superb with thoughtful additions such as safety rails along the deck steps. "Made call and left message, which Darren returned fairly quickly.  Made appointment for this work, and added another job that will be done later (wood rot on exterior of roof eaves), and received estimate.  He agreed to call after completing another job that day, which he ended up doing at almost the exact time he'd originally estimated.  Showed up and walked with me to review the situation of birds building a nest inside broken vent access about 10-12' up side of house.  Assessed possibility they got nest materials into the fan area over the microwave where the venting originated in the kitchen. 
He was able to use a screened dryer vent flap assembly I'd already purchased, attached it after cleaning out the exterior area of the vent ducting, and then went inside the house to remove and clean the venting above the microwave/stove.  He reassembled the venting and duct-taped it to a better condition than it had been originally.
All in all, a most satisfying job done, well worth the quite affordable cost and totally responsive to everything I mentioned, including returning later for the wood rot repairs.  This is my second time using him, and he remains reliable, personable, and professional, and he'll get my business next time I need handyman work done.
