"They had to tear out our trunk line, which is the main line to the furnace, and put in a bigger line.  They also put in two new returns in two different rooms and route duct work to those rooms.  They also had to test to make sure the furnace wasn't going to over heat again.  In testing they found it was tripping the high heat switch so they discovered that the high level switch was also failing.  He set the high heat switch up a little higher to get us through the next 6 weeks until we turn it off for the next season.  Then we are supposed to call him so he can come back and switch it out. They spent a good hour after they closed to make sure everything was working correctly so they didn't have to come back out.  It was impressive. They had to drill through concrete as it was not an easy job.  We had only been in the house 1.5 years and can't believe our inspector missed this issue. He said they only make sure the furnace runs for 3-4 minutes so they could have easily missed it as they were not HVAC technicians. They are extremely thorough and showed me how to test things."

When he arrived at the house (on time as before), he showed me a new and clever kit that he had purchased to make this job more efficient. The problem in this house is that the laundry room just isn't in a good location. There is no other possibility for venting. I would like to stress that when we first became aware of this situation back in early 2007 (Our dryer just wasn't drying clothes at all - the heat sensor kept clicking on and off as it attempted to work with a clogged vent.) We called a vent cleaning company. The gentleman from that company came out here, did what he could, and solved nothing. Therefore John at Metro Home Maintenance really saved the situation. My phone call to Metro was answered promptly. A convenient time was agreed upon and John was right on time. John, knowing that our problem would reappear, had even purchased a special kit for problems such as these. John worked quickly and carefully to complete his work. There is simply no substitute for a skillful person who is willing to work hard and think through a problem. Once again the dryer hums right along and works as intended an we are grateful."
