"I can't thank Ron Roy enough for "extraordinary" job he did installing windows/door in my house. I am very pleased with the quality of Ron's work, Harvey windows/door and how great they looks. The work that Ron and his crew did is excellent quality, great attention to detail, professional. He is very accommodating, listened to my concerns to ensure I was getting what I wanted.  Ron is a contractor that you would want to hire for all your house remodels and won't regret later."

"Jon, our Point of Contact at Roy's was on top of the entire project every step of the way. He kept the subcontractors in line throughout the project. Communication was top notch as was their level of service. The were especially patient with us as we experienced some issues with squirrels in our attic which did some minor damage to the aluminum cladding that they had installed. They re-did the cladding at no extra charge. The final invoice for both the roofing and siding matched their original quotes. We couldn't be happier with the way it looks. They are even providing some finishing touches on the gutters for us even after they've been paid in full for their services. Some day, when we have enough funds for a new sun room, we'll be looking up Roy's as our first choice. <br />"

"Dave LaPlant and his crew did an excellent job replacing our roof late last year. Dave is personable, knowledgeable and answers any and all questions about every aspect of roof replacement, including why he only uses quality shingles. His crew—Ryan, Gary and Mark—are professional, hardworking and courteous. They did a great job! I would not hesitate in recommending Aatek to anyone looking for a roofer. In fact, in our development of about 70 houses, Aatek has replaced roofs on about 25... and counting I am sure! Get on Aatek’s calendar—they are busy for a reason!"

"Brownell staff are knowledgeable and patient. For one window, we wanted a custom size that would be compatible with our existing windows; Randy Kaiser spent a great deal of time generating diagrams so that we could exactly how the various size options would compare."

"First, let me say that Alex (the company owner) and his team at Salem Home Improvement provided, unequivocally, the best experience we've had with a home improvement/repair company. Work done: We had a full bathroom that needed a complete renovation (completely gutted, walls and floor). The room was gutted. New walls and floor installed. New fixtures installed (tub, sink, toilet, vanity, lighting). New door and frame installed. Wood trim in many places, and new baseboard installed. New tile installed on floor and wall. Painting. I may have missed something as there were so many details. Performance of work: At the time we signed the contract, Alex told us the project would be done in 6-8 days. It was completed in 6. Alex and his team are the most diligent and hardworking that we have seen. Alex was on site every day. They arrived on time every day, and worked a minimum of 8 hours each day. One day they worked for 12 hours. We were amazed at what was accomplished in 6 days! Quality of work: Excellent. Especially considering the variety of tasks involved. They paid very close attention to detail. The result is a beautiful, brand-new bathroom, beyond even what we thought it would be. Work Environment: Alex and his team are good people. They are polite, kind, and respectful. They obviously enjoy what they are doing, which is good for them and the customer! It's apparent that Alex cares deeply about his work, and wanted to ensure we were happy and had no reservations with the final result. A P.S.: A minor adjustment needed to be made to the tub faucet (this was discovered a day or so after the work was completed). I contacted Alex to ask for the correct size of the tool to make the adjustment. Unasked, Alex came to the house in the evening and made the adjustment. I suspect that he did this after his workday was done and I envision him trying to relax for the next day. I know this took over an hour of his time. We would hire Salem Home Improvement again, with no hesitation, and will recommend them to others if the occasion arises."

"Ben was always responsive to our requests, provided a fair, reasonable cost estimate in writing, and scheduled and completed the work on time and within his estimate.  Getting a written estimate from construction contractors is nearly impossible in this area - most are just not able to organize themselves and their worksheet.  Ben, however, provided a clear, neat cost list for us compared to two other contractors.  We also had regular communication using email or text messaging, which made it convenient in discussing job variations during the run of play. <br /> he also installed sliding wooden drawers in our kitchen cabinets, which were 1992 vintage but still in good shape.  The extra space and innovative design he used is a welcome change allowing us to remove clutter from the countertops to stow utensils, plates and pans more conveniently. <br /> We are extremely happy with the work Ben did, and would use him again. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Waterbury, VT

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
