There was a bit of trade off on prep work for the front entrance area (going to remove next year so skimp on prep) and trim repair which worked out well and kept the project at cost. I spoke with the painter on site who'd managed the team at some length about the work and future options on the last day when work was wrapped up.

Note on price: I didn't have a chance to get additional bids before I wanted to go ahead so I don't have a basis for comparison, but the price seemed fair for the work and friends with similar experience concurred."
