"Our gas water heater failed on Super Bowl Sunday. I got on-line looking for a repair. After reading their 5 star reviews I called. To my surprise I received a call the same hour, made an appointment for Monday morning 9am. They showed up, on time, gave me a reasonable quote. They took out the old equipment, installed a highly rated unit and were gone within 3 hours. The unit came with a 6 year warranty but they added free labor to the warranty. Very happy with their service"

"Boone installed a new gas line and indoor shut-off valve for my fireplace. He quoted a fair and competitive price and saved me quite a bit of money. Boone arrived promptly explained everything he needed to do and set to immediately to work. He was so polite, personable and conscientious. He took the time to show me how to operate the fireplace and ensured I was aware of all safety protocol. I highly recommend Mil-Spec Gas works!"

"I want to thank Nick and Nate of T.P. Howard Plumbing. We placed a call due to a leak in a gas line that occurred recently. Dominion Power had shut off the gas to the particular unit it serviced, leaving the tenants without service. Nike and Nate came out that day and promptly found the cause of the situation and worked quickly to resolve the matter. Both were polite, professional and very very knowledgeable. They had to go through roofs, get up in ceilings as well as carry equipment up and down the stairs numerous times. I personally don't see using anyone else when it comes to our plumbing needs. "On the initial service call, it went very well. The tech, Sergie was very knowledgeable and competent. The fan was out of balance and shaking the whole house when it ran.  Installation of the new system is where the problems began. Within 30 days, I noticed that the heat pump kept running while blowing warm air in the summer when the A/C should have been on. I called CC and they sent an ill-equipped technician who complained why he didn't have a "sniifer" to locate leaking coolant. He left and CC sent another guy who found the problem. Meanwhile my electric bill tripled. Turns out the coil was installed improperly creating a leak that the first guy should have found. I will never buy another York or use Carolina Comfort. <br />"

"Very prompt inspection and competitive quote. They matched another company's slightly lower price. Installation work started on time and quickly completed. Some problems occurred with the post work city inspection . Poor communication between the company inspectors, the workmen and the city inspectors led to 8 or more visits and follow up work to the residence by these parties, until the inspection was given. This is a good company with skilled and professional employees. Their office staff is great. They just need better communication and coordination between the techs and with city/county inspectors"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Waynesville, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
