"Hawkins has now done two whole-house window replacements for us. This second home is a one-of-a-kind designed Mid-Century Modern classic home, and we have been very fussy about how the windows needed to look in order to retain the essential look and style of the old window styles. Hawkins has been able to provide us with really spectacular replacements. Gary Hawkins, the owner, came personally to look at our home and listen to our concerns, and then was able to select the precise windows we asked for. We find them to be reasonably priced and responsive to concerns. Since they have done multiple jobs for us, we know they do a great job of keeping their customers happy and also hit the "budget-friendly" button, too! This project includes replacing 3 sliding glass doors, (one which is 10 feet wide), 18 windows, (3 of which are 8+ feet wide picture windows), 4 floor-to-ceiling fixed tempered windows, and 3 specialty reeded glass windows."

"Our experience with Bank's Glass was exceptional. We had all of our windows in our house replaced and then a few years later, we put windows in an outdoor patio area. Employees at Bank's Glass are experienced, professional and friendly. Our windows look great and would recommend Bank's Glass to anyone looking for quality windows and a great price. <br />"

"Owner,Dmitriy is a nice guy but you'll only see him when he presents the contract and for progress payments--not supervising the job. Don't be in a rush to sign the contract.Ask him to leave it with you to read for a day.Be detailed about your expectations-amend if needed to make sure all is clear and all understandings are in writing.CA law allows lesser of $1,000 or 10% total project cost as down payment,no up front material payments allowed till delivered. Do not pay more. You'll deal mostly a project manager -at the job site mostly, but not always.Their "signature method" of installation may not be what you want. There were different workers in and out of rotation and we had to be there every day to make sure installation was done to our liking, otherwise, things were just done and had to be redone later. All the workers were very nice and want to please, but varied in their skill and experience. Caulking and painting was just satisfactory, not their strongest suit. We are left with some ugly areas of caulking that we hope we won't notice as time goes on."

"My research about everything that can be a good benefit for me about energy, lead me to Landmark construction crew. I read a lot in their website and after I contacted them, I initiate a meeting with Ezra and Roy. They arrived to my house and recommended me to perform a fully audit that will reveal a full picture of any leaks or issues that I might have at the house. The audit didn't cost much and Ezra with additional 2 people, worked for several hours and checked everything. Their report revealed that there were several issues including the windows and AC system. As part of my work with them, I had them fix some of the issues. Ezra was very nice to me from the moment he showed at my house. He always backed up his recommendations with the results of the report."

"I had Moule's come out to install a mirror in a new bathroom that we'd added as part of a large remodel. They did a good job on it - the mirror had to fit between two cabinets and below moulding that the original contractor had installed which was difficult because the opening wasn't square. It was actually off on all four measurements - the tile contractor put in the backsplash level but the cabinets on both sides were out of square and the moulding at the top wasn't level. Anyway, they measured the glass accurately and when they installed it the fit was very good. <br /> The only issue I had was with communication as far as the timing of the install. I'd been given a target installation of and quot;probably Thurs or Fri next weekand quot;, depending on when they could get the glass fabricated. When I hadn't heard from them by Friday I called and found out the installers were on the way. It worked out OK but I would have much rather have had the specifics of the install set up as an appointment since I'm not always home waiting for contractors. <br /> They weren't the least expensive quote I got but I got a good impression from the guys that measured the glass and did the work. I was glad that I went with them as a contractor. <br />"

"While the contractor was late, he did call. My shower valve only put out hot water. In order to fix it, the entire system had to be replaced. It took a long time, but he was able to do the job without destroying the whole shower wall system. In other words, he took apart and soldered pipes in a 6" circular area. That was great. Shower works fine now.  <br /> He is to come back and install electrical boxes in ceilings of two bedrooms along with fans. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in West Point, CA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
