"Marvon's crew did an excellent job with renovations to the main floor of our 36 year old home. The work ethic his crew demonstrated was exception now days. They take pride in their work and truly want the customer to be happy with the end product. I would hire them again if I need this level of work done again."

"It went great. They were very patient with us, considering we figured out what we wanted - in part - as we went along. We chose hardware (towel racks, vanity, tub etc) at Lowe's and they picked it all up and did the install. The plumber bill was about $900 and the Original Bros bill another $4-5k, I forget the exact number. I should note that there were some unknowns - how much hidden water damage to the floor/wall near the tub, etc, but they gave us good ideas of what to expect and the range of costs we might incur. They were very upfront with us about all costs, and gave good recommendations as in "do what you want but I don't recommend doing X and Y." I was Very impressed. I should mention that a certain unprofessional plumber who came by our house quoted us over $10k for the tub repair alone. I went into this with a lot of apprehension and expectations for problems, and was really pleased how it turned out. I am normally very pessimistic and suspicious and they put me at ease with the manner in which we prepared for the work, how it was done, and getting everything wrapped up. A problem after the fact (GFCI outlet went bad) was promptly remedied at no cost to us. I very highly recommend these folks."

"I submitted a review yesterday and learned today that price point and quality of service were given an "F" . I apologize for whatever I did to cause this rating to appear; it is inaccurate.  The price point does not apply, yet; our project needs more realistic planning on our part.  The rating for quality of service should be "A" for three levels of initial customer service.  Hopefully the two responses will be merged.  Anyone planning a project that can benefit from the services of a General Contractor, will do well to consider the services of Darcy Bean Construction."

"The tearoff was difficult due to the 3 layers that were on the house. The job was done very neatly in a timely fashion with minimal disturbance to our landscape. They completed the work in less than two weeks and the final result was a very nice looking roof. They also took great care not to damage our siding and windows in the process. They covered attic contents with plastic sheating to collect much of the debris that fell in. Mr. Ritter and his wife were extremely accomodating and pleasant to work with. Their employees were also very courteous to us. They readily took on a few extra add-ons with very fair prices. The only thing that they might improve upon would be sweeping the lawn for nail pickup- they missed a lot. In summary, I highly recommend them and would use them again in the future."

"Ours was not an easy project.  We found our dream home -a 100 year old American Four Square with a red clay tile roof in the Historic district of Newport, KY.  As we are in a designated historic district, there are certain guidelines that must be adhered to. <br /> <ol> <li>After interviewing 5 roofers, we found Cornett to be (1) the best price, (2) experts with significant experience with red clay tile, (3) the only roofer that we interviewed to be able to replicate the historic detail on our gutters AND (4) have the ability to replace the metal roof on our kitchen addition.  Not only that, they worked closely with our GC and developed a metal roofing solution for the flooring on our newly designed rooftop deck.  From Keith's detailed outline of the scope of work - we used his outline for our KY Heritage Council  tax credit application - to Chan's (the owner's) personal attention and appearance on our job, we KNOW  we could not have found a better company for this job.  The  roof and gutter repair was such a large component to the success of this renovation.  We could not have done it without Cornett.  Thank you Chan, Keith, Todd, Ruben, Amanda and all at Cornett who helped us.</li> </ol>"

"Whenever you tear into an older home (37 year old house) you are never quite sure what you will find. Plus, as the project took shape and we were no longer looking a a drawing, we changed our mind about a couple small things. The MJ crew was great to work with about making changes to ensure we were happy with the finished project. Our home did not have the proper plumbing for the bathroom (instead of under the floor, the sewage lines ran out the wall to the septic tank) so half of our project cost was for tearing up the concrete floor and installing plumbing that should have been installed when the house was built. The project took a little longer than anticipated but Jeb and his crew saw that by the end of the first week we were able to move the washer & dryer back so we could do some laundry without having to run to the laundrymat. Thankfully, a friend had an appliance dolly he could loan us for the 3 week duration which made it easy to move the washer and dryer in and out when workers were coming and needed to be in that area."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Westville, IL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
