I accepted that, then waited until after 1:00 to call them again, only to find out the tech was still an hour away, working on another job. I thought the whole point of a service 'window' was to provide flexibility for the tech in case they get held up. I had to leave my house by 2:30, so I canceled the appointment. Heated driveways either heat up with electric coils or from hot water flowing through pipes, coming from your boiler. These electric cables and pipes are generally only a couple of inches under the surface. As they heat, they heat up the thermal mass of the asphalt or concrete, which melts away the snow and ice.
