"We had the best experience possible with Mr. Pritchard. I called and left him a VM on Monday 8/5/2019. He called me back promptly. I explained the situation with my leaking roof and siding damage. He scheduled with me an appointment for the very next morning to come out to my house and inspect the areas of damage. Our appointment was for 8:30 AM on Tuesday morning. He arrived at 8:28 AM (perfectly on time). He assessed the areas and gave me an estimate to repair the damages. I agreed and he actually found the leak and patched my roof immediately right then, to make sure that I didn’t sustain any more staining to the interior. We then set a time the following morning (today) to repair the siding damage. He arrived exactly on time again and got right to work. Throughout the tear out process, he found additional damages not known before. This includes rotted studs, as well as additional rotted siding. I was very concerned that the price for the repairs would go up significantly. Not so. He only charged me for the additional wood (which was almost nothing) and paint that he needed to buy, even though it was going to be much more work for him. He said, “I quoted that first price, so that’s all I will charge”. He and his assistant worked tirelessly for probably 10 hours to tear out, repair and paint the damaged area. Looking at the finished product, you can’t even tell that there was damage there. Mr. Pritchard is a man that truly cares about treating people the right way, as well as cares about the quality of his work. From the start, he acted with the utmost professionalism and is extremely knowledgeable. My wife and I are already tentatively scheduling him for some other home repairs that we have been wanting to have done. I have also passed his card to a couple of my immediate neighbors who will be calling him as well for their own home repair projects. If you need a knowledgeable and honest contractor, you should call Mr. Pritchard."

"Called Mr. Dudley and got a next day estimate. Felt very comfortable with his knowledge and ability to do a good job. Job award came down to J & M and the contractor that I ended up using. Final decision came down to the fact that contractor I chose was able to complete job sooner. Prices were both very comparible. <br />"

"First, the representative who came out to give a quote made several suggestions that we had not thought of. We appreciated that he gave us options and let US decide if we wanted to spend a little more or go a more economical route. Second, the communication, before, during and after the install was exceptional. They kept us in the loop and they responded quickly to any calls we made to them. Third, the installation went smoothly and quickly. They had a process and routine that enabled them to do the install with little "waiting around" time. Last, as with any renovation, we discovered a couple of minor problems after the work was done. All our problems were addressed and fixed promptly. This is the second home for which Folker's has provided new windows. We were extremely pleased both times."

"Purchased a new home that needed painting from DIY pain jobs and factory one color entire house deal. Searched for a paint company here in Mobile, got a few bids and HAPPY I went with Pro 1! From the start Kevin was detailed and gave pretty honest advisements.Kevin responds promptly for estimate concerns and any painting questions. No pressure, just facts and would be thankful if you chose their services. We are a military family and didn't want to feel pressured. Thats how Kevin approached my estimate.  <br /> Melanie got me booked, color at Sherwin went great, Katie responded promptly with a financial question, and painters rocked the job! These painters, Don, Chris and the gentleman with the red beard (forgive me, I forgot his name) work SOO hard! They are PRECISE and go out of their way to be sure the job looks professional. The painters made sure they left it looking like new walls and ceilings. The value of my home increased and the way my paint job is, it TOTALLY  made the home look custom.   <br /> Prices are reasonable for the EXPERTISE they provide. Hands down, so far so good. I have 4 more rooms to complete, these painters KNOW what they are doing.  <br /> Don't shortchange yourself by hiring random people, stick to professional painters Pro 1 provides. The painters even have pleasant attitudes and I feel comfortable with them in my home, which says enough on its on. <br /> So heres to finishing my entire home. Thanks Pro 1! <br /> (P.S. On my first encounter estimate, I only had 3 rooms, but since it all went so well, I'm having them do my ENTIRE home. That says a lot.) <br />"

"Larry did a great job at an exceptionally good price. I needed my vinyl repaired on my chimney due to storm damage and he was able to hunt down matching siding (20+ years old) and did an exceptional job in a short time. Yes, I would definitely hire him for repairs around the house as well as the siding."

"The quality of their work is very good; however, they are much too expensive, since they hire contractors. Also, they don't accept personal checks, debit/credit cards. Considering how expensive they are, they have some nerve not to be more cooperative insofar as how their customers may pay for their services. I read one of the reviews in which the representative stated that they had been in business for ten years; however, they have not been in business for ten years in Mobile, but the Mississippi Gulf Coast instead."

"It took 7 weeks to get the windows installed from the date I ordered them. When they showed up at 9:00 a.m. for the install the paperwork was incorrect. The French door they brought was not the right size, when they called the office for the correct door no one answered so they told me they would bring it back the next day and install the door. The men put in the windows and left at around 4:00 p.m. The lead installer told me he would be back the next day to finish the trim on the windows and that it would only take a few hours to complete ( he still had several hours of daylight to complete the job). I agreed that he could come back the following day because he still needed to install my door. He said he would arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m , he arrived at 11:50 without my door. No apology for being late. He finished the windows in a few hours just as he said. We called the company all week, finally they told us they had the door but it would be two weeks before the installer would have time to get to it. Not acceptable, my husband talked them into installing the door the following Sunday. The office told us the installer would arrive at 9:00 a.m he arrived at 11:30 a.m. Again no apology for being late. Finally every thing is complete and looks good but I will not use them again because of poor customer service. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Wilmer, AL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
