"when I first called for an estimate we waited no longer than two days. When the gentleman came out he was professional and took his time looking at each window and taking precise measurements. I was concerned that my new windows would require me to replace my existing shades/blinds (as I was told by friends) and he assured me that once I removed the shades and blinds the new windows installed they would fit perfectly. Happy to say they did! Time frame for having windows installed was about 16 weeks due to pandemic slowdown and actually it turned out to be about 6 months before the windows were actually installed (again due to not being able to get windows made at plant due to pandemic). I have an unusual green vinyl around my windows and they were able to match it perfectly with the rest of the windows on the house. When the day actually came to have windows installed they showed up right on time and I was amazed that they got all 12 windows installed in 1 day and came back the 2nd day for 2 hours for the picture window. The cleaned up great and left everything in good order. I would highly recommend this company and service."

"Here is what I appreciated the most about Maxi Windows: 1) Nick was professional and spent time going over current window technology. 2) He evaluated which windows were in dire need of replacement after inspecting them. 3) He used absolutely no pressure tactics to replace windows. 4) He was on time and replaced all my windows in less than a day without leaving any mess. 5) His capping craftsmanship was amazing and he took great pride in his work. 6) After having gone to many window showrooms, I stuck with his recommendation which was the best choice I made. 7) He was nice to our dog and mindful of her when opening doors. If you are looking for an honest and quality window replacement company that wont pressure you and change prices then call Maxi Windows."

"To start I'd like to say that I am very happy with the work that was done.  I had terrible windows in my basement that did not open.  Now I have beautiful, safe, secure windows that can open.  The guys from Eastern Glass Block got the job done in one day.  They did a good job cleaning up, too.  The finishing is impeccable.  They went above and beyond what they had to do to.  I laugh to myself every time I look at them.  I thought I'd try to do the work myself.  Then I see the quality of work these guys did and I'm so glad I didn't attempt it.   <br />"

"Flawlessly. All windows were replaced including a large picture window and 15+ other windows without issue. The flashing on the outside was very well done and the trim and sealing on the inside were all very well done. 1+ year later, everything is still working very, very nicely. No complaints at all. I recommended Al to my mother-in-law and he replaced her windows and slider, too, and did just as good a job as he did for me."

"I was pleased with the overall service that JW Calvert Provided. Jay Connor worked with me to provide and install a basement exterior door to replace one that swelled shut and cracked. Jay ordered the door and it was delivered to him in the time promised, about 4 weeks. I did not hear from him after the 4 week period, so I called Jay who answered his phone and immediately got back to me with an installation date. The door was installed a couple of days later, the installation was done quickly and well by the installers, Jimmy and Vince. I am very pleased with the door and the smoothness of the process! <br />"

"After 18 years, my wife and I started to renovate our home. We met with several companies (one of them being Advance). Prices were comparable with all of them, but quality of materials were not. We preferred the options that Advance offered and felt they were the right company for the job. I have never been a fan of high pressure sales techniques, up-selling or salespersons who’s answers are all about getting you to sign the papers. Rob, Advance’s sales representative, we found to be very personable. It was his knowledge and truthful answers that were the deciding factor in why we chose Advance for our first major home improvement job. We were installing solar panels and wanted to have a new roof installed before the installation. The Advance roofing crew headed by Adrian, were all very professional, friendly, and worked extremely hard during the hot summer heat in July 2019. We were so impressed with the roofing job and crew, in early 2020 we decided to continue our relationship with Advance and met with Rob again for our second job. This time a new 8 foot front door with side lights, family room french door, large foyer window, master bedroom windows in the front of the house and some cedar impressions siding accents. We were very happy with the job and quality of the finished work that Steve and Calvin completed. Like most jobs there are small details that need to be adjusted and these were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction with our project manager Gary. In November 2020, we completed a third job with Advance in which we installed two more doors, windows, and additional cedar impression and board and batten siding. Most recently, we scheduled a fourth job for the Spring of 2021 to complete the remaining windows (I have over 40 windows in my home). I can not say enough about how much Advance has exceeded our expectations in every way—the quality of work, great crews and home office staff. They are friendly, requests and concerns are answered quickly by our Project Manger Gary and Sale Representative Rob. Based on the excellent rapport we have with the entire Advance team, we have decided to continue our relationship with them for all future home renovations, no need to look any further. We look forward to continuing our home projects with Advance, as we know it will be stress free."

"I just bought my house and found out that the two basement windows were rotten and termite eaten. I had them replaced with glass block, they look really nice and the installers did a nice job."

"They were really easy to work with. They talked me through different options and answered my endless questions.  They were flexible in scheduling my installation.  The installation was challenging, so they sent out some extra people to help. They were done on time, and cleaned up quickly.  They answered my questions and addressed some minor concerns post installation.    Their prices were competitive with other companies in the area. I chose them because they were the easiest to deal with <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Wilmington, DE

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
