"Had multiple jobs that needed done. Replaced water heater, unclogged pipes & replaced rusty pipe. Everything was explained to understanding and work done to perfection. Even repair cement floor that needed jackhammered. All 4 guys that were here for each job was professional, courteous and non-judgmental to my situation. And I wish I would’ve known about them when my pipe Busted in the kitchen last Christmas because the company I got to repair that situation. Left me with a more stressful situation because they didn’t put the counter back or anything left me with another situation that I had to hire someone to come in and put back."

"I am so impressed with this company!  Very reasonably priced services, knowledgeable staff, professional and courteous.  This company is also notable for its expertise with older homes/older plumbing systems, which was useful in our case.  I also love that it's a small, family-run company that has been around for decades.

"I had to have the work done, but think the price was too high. I know that you have to make a living, but I am a combat wounded Vietnam veteran on a fixed income, so my money does not come cheap, and I have to watch where it goes. I had another company, Trinity Plumbing look at the job, but the owner could not give me a for sure date he could do it, but said that since I had bought my own faucet, the cost to install would have been less than $100.00?"

"I highly recommend GAGP! Within hours I was contacted by Greg and he walked me through the process. Communication was excellent and I greatly appreciated it! We scheduled the job and Greg and Dan arrived on time and did a fantastic job repairing my water main at a VERY fair price. They were both professional and courteous and got my yard back in great shape before they left. I highly recommend them! Look no further trust me!"

"Zak showed up on time, looked at my to be fixed list and went right to work. He was able to loosen the shut-off valves in both bathroom sinks, so we we didn't have to replace those. (I'm 70 and arthritic, no strength in my hands and wrists.) If the shower regulator goes wonky again, I should be able to fix it myself as Zac showed me how. No charge for that fix. The toilet needed a new flapper-apparently the el crappo one I had used was no good-it was worth the $15 charge to finally not have to turn the water on/off to use the toilet! The cost of the project includes the new faucet which I guess to be $80-100 retail range (a nice Delta basic with sprayer). It was not a simple replumb; there were some challenges getting the old faucet out as parts were rusted and fused. Zac explained everything along the way, took care not to make a big mess and cleaned up after he was done. Took about 3 hours start to finish, including the time Zac took to go purchase the faucet and get the special tools needed to cut apart the old rusted parts. They will be coming back to install some shower rails for us after they get the parts. I will be calling these folks for any more plumbing repairs I need. I was so nice to call and actually talk to a live person and not play phone tag. I called them on a Thursday afternoon and they were here the next Monday morning as promised. This was a non-emergency call. BTW-they do charge $85 for a service call. This was work Plumb Tech originally did in December 2017. I had washed dishes in a dishpan and when I dumped the dishpan, water gushed all over the floor. I called they sent a tech over immediately-here in about 20 minutes. Turns out my old house and somewhat wobbley sink cabinet contribute to loosening the joints. The tech re-attached everything and tightened all the joints as much as possible. Everything is now working fine again. Done at no additional charge to me. I really need to have new cabinets installed so the sink will not move even a little, but the house is not worth that expense at this point. (We will be investigating some way of stabilizing things.) I really appreciate the fast response and not being charged."

"Greg, the owner/operator, promptly answered our inquiry, explained what was needed, such as getting all the utilities marked, and immediately got the ball rolling. The price he quoted was reasonable, particularly since our lot is densely wooded and set back a good distance from the road. He was friendly and polite, and worked with us to preserve some landscape shrubbery that was important to us. When asked about future indoor plumbing changes, he took the time to go over how these improvements could be achieved and never once pressured us with 'horror stories' about what could happen if the problems weren't immediately addressed. When the time comes, and the money is available, we'll definitely be calling Greg back."

FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Wilmington, OH

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
