"A1 Handyman & Plumbing Services saved my house. I moved into a home built in 1925 and after three months noticed an open, leaking pipe in the basement ceiling. Water was pouring out of it, to provide a more accurate description. Sean from A1 came to the house. He investigated the leaking pipe further and discovered not only serious plumbing issues (multiple pipes connected to the same main drainage pipe) but also an abandoned oil tank was hidden behind the drywall; the consequences of neglect and thriftiness from the previous owners. The huge tank made it impossible to reroute the pipes properly. Sean removed the oil tank, ripped up the subfloor, and reorganized the pipes correctly. The inspector had failed to see this issue and the previous owners did not disclose it. Sean's honesty and professionalism was a blessing and a nice change of a pace from my homeowning experience to date. He's a plumbing guru as far as I'm concerned, not to mention a gifted problem solver. I've hired him again for a different issue and will continue to do so when needed in the future."

"We've used Russo Plumbing for a handful of jobs around the house. The first was to replace a garbage disposal. The price was competitive and the job was done to our satisfaction. So when our first floor bathroom toilet began leaking into the basement, we called them out. They had to do a pretty extensive repair/replacement of a pipe to correct the problem. I was pleased with the price and the speed with which they completed the job. The most recent visit, however, left me disappointed. My wife had called them out to take a look at our master shower and toilet, both of which were leaking. The shower down onto the ceiling on the lower level, and the toilet from an unknown location that just left a puddle on the floor. They were pretty responsive and came out to the house in a timely manner. The toilet needed tightening, but wouldn't require the seal to be replaced or anything else complicated. The shower, thankfully, appeared to only need a gasket replaced. They did not have the part and weren't able to locate one at the local home improvement store, so they told my wife they would have to order the part and would contact her once it was in to schedule a time to come back and install it. She asked what it would cost to come back and replace the part and was told that we'd be charged again for a house call. It would seem to me that they would be coming back to finish a job, so I'm not sure why we'd be charged for another house call. Had the part been available the same day, we would only have incurred any additional labor I would think. So we paid roughly $150 to tighten a toilet (which I'm ok with) and then it would be another roughly $150 to finish the job and install a gasket that couldn't be more than $10. Not only that, but it's 4 weeks later, and we still haven't gotten a call back about the part being in. We've since called another plumber to come look at the issue that wouldn't charge us to come out to the house and provide an estimate before any work is done. Given all the positive reviews and our first couple of experiences with them, I'm sure this was just a miss on their part, but I don't think we will hire them again."
