"Owner/operator John Rife is a top notch contractor who employs first rate employees to get the job done. In my basement, I had a concrete slab floor and two old, drafty windows that needed replacement. I wanted him to put down a nice Cali Bamboo floor and add new Anderson windows. When he came to give his initial estimate, we talked at length about what the job entailed. He answered my questions, however ridiculous, with a direct honesty that was refreshing. John gave me the price estimate that was fair: not as high as other contractors with whom I spoke but not as low as others either. What made him our pick was that I felt that based on our conversations, I could trust him to do the job on time and on budget. I am happy to say that not only was the job done on time, the price did not go up along the way. How often does that happen? In two days, John's employees, Chris and Edward, worked diligently to get the job done. They must have done more than a few jobs together because, except for the occasional work related banter, they hardly spoke. They would arrive at 8am and leave by 4pm and work for the entire time. If not for the intermittent sound of a power saw, I would scarcely have known they were down there at all. Kenny and crew did an outstanding job.  I was amazed that the gentleman doing the cut-in was so proficient and never had to use tape. The painting did take longer as I added the ceiling and stairwell to my original request but Kenny did his best to fit me in to finish up and in no time, the job was finished to my complete satisfaction.

"The owner, along with her technician, examined the floor in my home.  They gave me their opinion of what needed to be done.  This coincided with my opinion of the scope of the work, since I have had that done previously.  She gave me a price which was within the range I wanted to spend.  She came with two technicians.  She made sure that everything was going smoothly before she left.  They came on time.  The technicians performed the work beautifully.  They were very polite and answered any questions I had.  The owner returned at the time she anticipated the job would be completed and inspected the work.
I was very pleased and happy with the work.  They did a better job then my previous company, which I thought was good.   The finished product looked like it did when the marble was first laid.  She also provides a guarantee.  I would definitely recommend New Galaxy floors and will use them again.

"the leak was discovered Wednesday morning. Water was already leaking to the second floor. Sheri Lane was wonderful to place a claim for us, however the Friday scheduled service was just not responsive enough for us and we had the work done for $399.00. I'm sending in a paid invoice for reimbursement consideration. As a Homeowner, we just needed to minimize secondary damage that we realize is not covered under the home warranty. I interviewed 5 contractors before selecting Jim Hicks and his group.  Jim came across as honest and forthright, I did not get a sales pitch.  He listened to what I wanted and came back with a fair quote.  It wasn't the least expensive, and it wasn't the highest.  He took the time to meet with us twice before we could decide. 

After selecting him, he set us up with his general contractor, Justin.  I felt comfortable working with Justin from the very start.  He made himself accessible to me at all times, by phone, text or email.  He constantly kept me in the loop on what was happening when, which team would be working, and worked harm to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible.  He took time to explain what was being done, in what order, and why.  His teams; the engineer, brick workers, framers, and drywall installers were all very professional.  They all worked together, and showed respect for each other, Justin, and our home.  One structural issue came up, and Justin halted work immediately until it could be addressed and resolved. We have a steel home, so attaching the roof presented some challenges.  He continually worked hard to make sure I was getting what I wanted and worked with me on designing and deciding on details as they came up.  Justin paid very close attention to details so that the finished project was correct, many of which I wouldn't have thought of, or known enough to ask.

The project from start to finish took from April to October, came within a couple thousand of the original quote (because of some added features) and I am thrilled with the results.  In order to save money, we requested to do the finishing work ourselves; trim work, tiling, door frames, painting, etc..  They were very flexible, working with our requests, and did everything they could to make our work easy and offered helpful suggestions along the way. 

The room is beautiful, exactly what I wanted.  It works seamlessly with the rest of the home, and doesn't look like an addition.  We will definitely use them again if another project comes up.
