"I have a 1906 cottage in N Seattle, with an old porous foundation. Water came into the basement for the first time in 20 years. Another contractor bid the job at $12,000 after 3 site visits and almost a month. Andy came out to the house the same day I talked to him, and estimated the same job at half that price. He followed up with questions, asked about making another visit, came out again and saw that the drainpipe was disconnected at the top of the area being flooded. 75% of the roof's water was pooling against the house. He found a ladder and fixed it and isn't charging me a dime. So, no French drain, no Delta drain, no foundation treatment, no 50' of trenching, no $$$. "It was a smooth one day job. They subcontracted out the electrical for the sump pump. He came the same day. He had issues with a difficult situation I had in my home. They had to come out again. I was never charged any additional even though it too many hours to do. That electrical company had the most polite positive people I've ever run across in all of this project. This was CiscoElectric. I'd use them for anything! All and all, a fantastic experience! Oh, and they noticed an issue with my roof and would have never known other wise. And, because of that, managed to get a vent repair under warrantee that would never have happened if they didn't see an issue."

"They were incredibly responsive during a very hard time. In the space of 4 days our home flooded (during a week when there were lots of homes flooding -- they had a foreman on site to take a look within 24 hours, when a competitor wouldn't have been able to even look at the problem for a month). In addition to our home flooding, our son was in a terrible accident and was in ICU for several days, and the hospital for 5+ weeks (he's still there as I write this). Some folks from our church called Justin at Western and asked if they could provide the labor and they could install the sump system to take care of the immediate flooding project. My wife and I weren't even there and between our awesome Church family and western they dug the trenches and installed a sump system to take care of the flooding issue. Western was super busy with the unprecedented flooding, but they worked with us. The second part of the project in preparing the foundation in a stairway to the basement hasn't been completed yet, but is scheduled, and I'm confident they'll do a great job with that too. "I had renters in house in front of me who threw garbage off their deck, had large dogs...never cleaned up messes, garbage and junk littered the yard, etc.  <br /> I started having rat problems and when the pest control rep. came out and went under the house and attic, he said I  needed to have both areas cleaned out because of all the rodent feces, etc. there. I had one estimate done but wanted another one so I <br /> checked Angie's list for companys that cleaned out crawl spaces and attics.  I read all the ratings and comments of people having hired these companies and chose Miguel's company, STANDARD INSULATION AND REMOVAL , INC. because of the comments made by people who had hired him. <br /> I called him right away and he came out early the next morning and gave me 2 estimates...one for the crawl space and one for the attic as I requested.  (I showed him  the first estimate and asked for an estimate for the same work)  I blanked out the name of the first company.  He gave me the estimates and explained that he used products that were as good or better and explained the procedure for removal and installation.  He answered any and all questions I had...I tend to ask lots of questions.  (His estimate was about $2000 cheaper than the first estimate) <br /> Miguel and his co-worker were out every morniing by 8am and worked all day until about 5pm.  They worked  long and hard in miserable cold, wet weather.  <br /> I can't say enough about the work ethic and professionalism of Miguel and will recommend his company to anyone who asks for a recommendation.  <br /> My house was built in 1979 so the insulation rating was only R-15.  The drastic increase in the insulation should make a big difference this summer...if and when it gets hot... and of course the heat bill should show some difference too."

"I have hired Thomas for three different projects and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. After getting two sets of three bids from other contractors over a couple-year span and not feeling confident with any of them, I was impressed with the time, energy and focus he put into the bid.
