"I had a serious issue with my kitchen sink drain pipe and my bathroom shower stem. Patrick came to my house on time with a very courteous, friendly, professional attitude. As he was repairing my plumbing needs he explained to me step by step what he was doing. He assessed everything to me and in a timely manner was able to complete the jobs with flying colors. I'll tell you this... Patrick is a hero to me. Thank you, Patrick, and thank you A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing. "Trevor solved the problem with our shower drain pipe. We consulted a lot of plumbers before him but they could not figure out what to do and so overpriced. Trevor worked on it on the spot. He is great! 5.0 is not enough. TRPlumbing will always be our go-to company for all our plumbing projects or issues."

"Josh and his assistant did a wonderful job putting our kitchen back together after a water leak. Many repairs were needed and they did it all! They always showed up early each morning to get the job done. Josh is professional, friendly and most importantly does really great work. I felt at ease that the job would be done right. I was very pleased with the services provided and would recommend them to anyone needing small or big jobs done right."

"Amazing. Guy was wonderful, extremely flexible, did not charge me for 2 service calls even though he had to come to my home twice on the same day to remove and replace the hot water heater while working around the floor installer. If he had not agreed, on less than 24 hour notice, to attend to the hot water heater I would have had to wait almost 2 weeks before the floor installer was available again. He is very professional, does quality work and truly lives up to his NICE GUY name. His prices are very competitive and he goes out of his way to work with the customer. I'm not sure any other plumber would have done what he did and charge the customer for only 1 service call given he had to come to my home twice in order for me to accommodate installer for my kitchen floor. I have a couple of leaking faucets to fix and I will certainly be calling NICE GUY PLUMBING after I complete the rest of my big projects."

"Charles Boyce is the owner of this company and a few more. His companies were responsible for the beautifcation of our home. From the new indoor plumbing to the brand new windows and doors, these guys, specifically Greg, put a lot of love and energy into our home. Homeserve sent them out and I'm grateful for that. The owner Charles, who proves that there is something in the water, came out to check the progress often, was kind, dependable, helpful and sympathetic. We have never, in the 13 years we've been down here, have EVER met such a more diligent company. They didn't patch, they fixed. They didn't try to upsell, they were upfront and honest. They got the job done."

"My issue was that my garbage disposal was no longer running, only humming. They came by and inspected it, then provided a suitable replacement with warranty. They were quick and efficient, and I've had no further issues since."

Get It Done Contracting greatly exceeded my expectations and the husband and wife co-owner team of Dave and Melisa treated our kitchen as if it was their own.

We sought estimates from four contractors in the fall of 2014 and selected Get It Done Contracting in January 2015 because they were less expensive than the others.  We also felt comfortable working with Melisa.  Melisa manages the initial estimate process and does the paperwork/ordering behind the scenes and Dave performs demo and manages the project on site.  If you appreciate being treated like you are the only game in town, go with Get it Done.

For background, we spent about $35,000 on the project, which lasted about a month and included demo, painting, ceiling fan, pendant light, can lights, under cabinet lighting, painting (walls/ceiling), cabinets and cabinet/drawer pulls, granite countertops and a sink, 700 sq ft of tile (kitchen, laundry room, hall, foyer, bathroom), tile backsplash, toilet and stainless steel appliances.  We let Dave and the gang rip out and install everything.  The way Get it Done operates is that the customer purchases appliances, pulls, faucet, ceiling fan, tile back splash/grout and floor tile/grout separately.  The reason for this is so you have control of the selection.  The estimate takes this into account, so you aren't paying more than some of the competitors who include everything or nearly everything in their estimate.  We had to go to the granite store and pick out the slabs we wanted, select the edge style for the granite, and pick out the sink style.  We also went to the cabinet store to pick out the cabinet style and color.

What I like about Get it Done is that they don't subcontract to a bunch of random people.  They have a tile guy, Keith, who is fantastic and does all the tiling himself.  He spent about two and a half weeks in our house.  By the time he left it felt like he was one of the family.  I learned a lot about tiling by watching and talking with him.  They have a painter, Jesse, and an electrician and plumber (can't recall their names).  They were all knowledgeable, polite, courteous, and respected our home.  We saw Dave and Keith more than the rest.  The others were in and out pretty quickly.  If I ever had an issue, Dave quickly rectified it.  He always went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied.

If I had any advice, give yourself about 4-5 months of slop from the time you start researching contractors until the project is complete.  We spent a couple of months selecting Get it Done, then it took about a month or so to get the cabinets in.  While the cabinets are being ordered, you can purchase the appliances, tile and all the other things.  The timing worked out well.  Stay patient because it is a long and nerve-racking process, but it is well worth it when complete.

Ultimately, we were so happy with Get it Done that we are planning to have them give us an estimate on our master bathroom remodel.  I would never recommend skipping the estimate process and throwing all your eggs in one contractor's basket, but you can't go wrong if you get just one estimate from Get it Done and then pull the trigger.

Note:  I'm attaching before and after photos.  We have since purchased a matching kitchen table and window treatments.  Those were not in the "After" photos when I took them.

FAQs for faucets, fixtures and pipes repair or replace projects in Yorktown, VA

A minor, easily accessible leak can be resolved in about three hours, while a large or hard-to-reach leak may take up to three days. If flooring or cabinets need to be built back, the timeline can run several weeks to cover material deliveries and installation. Every job begins with detection, proceeds to repair, and concludes with restoring your foundation’s strength.

Slab leaks are most common in areas where the ground is in motion, such as those prone to earthquakes or highly expansive soils. In places like California, constant shifting puts stress on foundations and pipes. Stay ahead of trouble by monitoring your water bill, inspecting visible slab edges, and scheduling routine inspections to catch leaks early and maintain your home's safety.

Keep an eye out for damp spots, rising water bills, the sound of running water when taps are off, or staining and sagging along the foundation. Check exposed slab edges during routine walk-arounds and note any uptick in indoor humidity or pest traffic. The moment something looks off, call a pro—fast action protects your slab and wallet.

Most policies cover slab-leak repairs tied to a covered event, such as earthquakes, severe storms, or a fallen tree. They often won’t cover gradual issues, such as root intrusion or corrosion-related pinhole leaks. Every policy is different, so be sure to contact your carrier for the fine print before any problems arise.
