"I have hired Waseem for a few projects - among them was the installation of a new microwave over our oven and another to fix a leaking sink. Both were urgent (around holidays) and he came over quickly, he was knowledgeable, fair priced and did excellent work. I have recommended him to others. I hope to hire him in the future, as well."

"Exceptional response and diagnosis of an 8 y/o GE oven. The cost to repair was reasonable. Despite it being a holiday weekend, they were able to secure the replacement part and returned the next morning to have it operational in time for Christmas dinner. Staff are courteous, professional, on time and explained each aspect of the process. Being able to repair an appliance at a reasonable cost far outweighs the price of purchasing a new one. Thank you, ATS!"

",  My oven "died" . I checked Angie's list , chose Mr. Decher and set up an appointment.  He called a day ahead to verify the time and let me know his schedule and how that could affect his time of arrival at my house. He gave me a two hour window and arrived promptly at the beginning of the time slot. He checked out the stove , replaced the defunct part , and answered my questions about maintaining the stove, in an efficient ,pleasant and professional way. I am very happy with his work.

"Technician was great. Timely, neat, friendly and knowledgeable. The person who answered to phone at the call center was awful. Hard to get information across, but had no effect on technician. Price was a bit high. They use a price book, and not consistent with time or labor involved."

"Our experience with Kitchen and Bath World was excellent; we are completely satisfied. We had two full bathrooms completely re-done as well as new kitchen counter tops and laminate flooring installed. Emily LaRose, the designer, is the consummate professional designer. She has a firm grasp of design concepts and gave us functional and beautiful designs. She is a skillful communicator, equally strong at explaining choices and listening to and addressing our concerns or preferences. Emily kept the projects on track and made herself available for our questions. Our initial choice for laminate flooring for the kitchen was discontinued by the manufacturer. Emily immediately contacted us, and we met. She presented other recommended choices that would work with our counter top choice and existing cabinetry. We ended up with beautiful flooring and an on-schedule installation. Emily visited our home throughout the projects and always answered our phone calls and emails promptly. She was extremely helpful and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Further, all the other Kitchen and Bath World staff we met were very helpful, and we felt completely comfortable having them in our home. Greg, the lead installer, has an outstanding work ethic and outstanding construction / remodeling skills. Greg did meticulous work, and our home was always left in pristine condition at the end of the day. We will be recommending Kitchen and Bath World to our family and friends!"

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Albany, NY

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
