"They have been prompt and reliable.  When my heater failed during very cold weather, they were there quickly and had the repair done within 12 hours of my call.  This has been a preventive maintenance expense that has been worth it's weight in heating and cooling!

"I CANNOT recommend them enough. When my 14 year old water heater went out Saturday evening, I was so stressed. I got ahold of Phil mid day Sunday and he took the time to walk through every option with me. Unlike most companies, he was able to give me upfront pricing and all it included. Not only was he a kind person with good pricing, but he was able to come Monday morning to replace it. Justin got the whole thing done in 1.5 hours. Both of them took time to explain things to me and answer any questions I had. As a new homeowner who doesn’t know a ton, I couldn’t have been in better hands. 11/10 would recommend!"

"Estes has been providing my service for approximately 10 years. Always prompt, courteous and very accommodating. They recently (June 2019) replaced my hot water heater and installed new HVAC system. An awesome crew performed the installation and was very thorough in explaining all of the new components to me. Also the gentleman who came to my home when the unit needed replacing was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and insured that all of my questions and concerns were addressed before he left."

"As I am writing this I realize that I am not completely satisfied with their service other than the tech was friendly and knowledgeable. Initially, I scheduled the appointment for an annual maintenance on our 3 units. On the day of the service their office called about 3 hours into the 4 hour window to inform me they needed to reschedule the appointment. The woman apologetically explained that I was the last appointment of the day, and the job ahead of me ran into a major repair that would run late into the evening. Though I had been inconvenienced by this, I understand these things happen and was still willing to give them a try. When the tech came out the following week, I walked around with him for a bit showing him where to access the units. I explained the air filters had recently been changed except for the one in the attic which he did for me using the filter I had purchased from Home Depot. When I asked him about the condensation hoses for the units in the basement he recommended I put a little bleach in the pump to keep it clean. Is not that something he should do as part of the maintenance I am paying for? I also asked him about cleaning the condenser coils on the outside units. He said he would check to see if they need it, which surprised me because that has always been standard with other companies as well. I had an appointment to go to while the tech was working. My husband was there for the rest of the service. We ended up replacing a capacitor in one of the older units, and the annual maintenance plan seemed like the most economical at $281 for 2 visits a year. But in hindsight I am wondering if it really was worth it."

"Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. FAQs for water heater repair or service projects in Alpharetta, GA

Warning signs include fluctuating water temperatures, a pilot light that repeatedly goes out, unusual noises from the tank, or complete heating failure. You might also detect a rotten egg smell, indicating a potential gas leak, or notice water that never reaches the proper temperature. If your water heater is over eight years old and displaying these symptoms, the gas valve is a likely culprit. Professional inspection is recommended, especially if gas odors are present.

Water heater gas valves are not universally interchangeable. Each valve must match your specific water heater's make, model, and specifications. Important compatibility factors include gas type (natural gas vs. propane), BTU rating, connection types, and physical dimensions. Using an incorrect valve can result in poor performance, premature failure, or dangerous gas leaks. Always consult your water heater's documentation or a professional plumber to identify the appropriate replacement valve for your unit.
