"I’m thankful Carter Bros was my choice through Angi’s list. The oven portion of my gas range suddenly quit working. Bill came out the same day and was thorough and professional. He was unable to find the source of the failure and said it could be the motherboard and it could fail again and at that point I’ll need to weigh if the cost of replacing that mother board or replacing the 9 year old range makes more sense. I was only charged $199 and he spent over an hour trying to isolate the failure. I appreciate his honesty and not charging me an exorbitant price. I have saved their contact info and will use them whenever I have an appliance failure and will recommend this company to my neighbors and friends. "

"I hired DB Construction to build my new home. First the quote purposely left out many thing that they could charge me for that I would have thought would be included, equipment needed, like truck and trailer, and excavating equipment. Plus the house quote did not quote a finished house, but just the shell with sheetrock, then everything else cost way more than a fair price. The build dragged on for about 20 months. Derek said it was the subs fault, but when I talked to the subs they had a different story. Derek was using the money I paid him for something other than my job. He said he had paid for things he had not even ordered, and when I needed them, they were not available. He was charging me for things he said he bought for my house ,but would not show me the bills. when I pushed and pushed I found that he had overcharge me on many things by adding more than a standard management markup and in some cases he charged me for things that I had already paid for. Now I'm dealing with two big issues, I have had calls from two subs saying they were getting ready to put a lien on my property for material that I paid Derek for in 2016 and they had not been paid by the end of 2017 yet. I keep trying to get Derek to provide me with lien releases for my project, but have not received them yet in 2018. I am also not getting DB Construction to fix the items I paid and they have not fixed the punch list yet. There is major cracking (1/4 inch) in many of the rooms where the roof trusses have shifted or sagged. Cracking and dropping of ceiling has caused my closet door not to close anymore. The Project is at least 1k over what it should have cost and the garage is not finished. I have had to hire someone else to finish the work. If you do decide to hire him for anything, be sure to get every detail in writing and definitely get a penalty in the contract for not completing on time. Since my project was over a year behind, and in fact never finished. Also lock down the management fee and what you will and won't pay for such as (drinking water, fixing their mistakes, tools or saw blades they need, and alway only hire him on a bid for the job, not time and material. Anything extra you want, get it in writing what it will cost and how much time it will add to the project. His worker are very nice, but don't expect to see Derek out at the project. He almost never visited the site of my project."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Arlington, WA

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
