"Alan and BJ were great to work with. Very personable and nice. Alan came in for a pre-visit and quote and discussed the work to be done. We split our gasline on our roof deck and extended one to better position our gas grill. Alan and BJ came for the installation and did a great job. I'd recommend them for work on gas line extensions."

"Mad Pipers did an excellent job on the work! Zack provided the original estimate. He was responsive, punctual, answered all my questions and provided a very thorough estimate of the work we needed done in a timely manner. I took estimates from other companies but Mad Pipers was by far the the most responsive and for the large amount of work we needed done, they were also the best pricing. The job was completed by Zack and Ragen who showed up on time and were very professional. The work itself was a two day job. They made sure to explain everything that was completed. I was very happy with the work they did and as a result asked them back to provide an estimate for some additional (smaller scale) work I needed done on a guest bathroom (replacing old galvanized steel pipes with new copper pipes) and a master bathroom (replacing a popup & drain which was done by Curtis). I highly recommend Mad Pipers! I am so happy with the work they did and would not hesitate to call them again for any plumbing needs."

"We had a routine check up on our furnace in May 2021 by company X. About 2 weeks after the job was done (which showed everything was fine per the technician) we started to smell whiffs of gas which dissipated quickly. After another week the smell increased and I called company X to see if a technician could come out to double check that everything was connected. The rude female on the phone said their workers never made that kind of mistake and it would cost $139 for them to come to our house. She told me the gas company would come out for free so I hung up and called them. Their meters showed there was a gas leak and they turned off our gas. I called company X and told them and this time a male answered the phone. He said I needed to call the gas company and have them turn the gas on so their techs could find the leak. Then, (I am not joking), he told me after the gas was turned on I could put a little dish soap in a spray bottle and spray the pipes to find the leak and then the technician would know where it was and fix it quickly. I called the gas company back and they sent someone out in person to tell me that is NOT how it is done. The nice man said it is primarily a safety issue and if there is a gas leak we are in potential danger. When I repeated what company X said he narrowed his eyes and suggested we hire another company. We looked online and Seatown had good reviews so we called them. When the woman that answered the phone knew we had a gas leak the first thing she asked was if it was turned off and are we okay? Then she put me on hold and checked to see when someone could be there. It was late in the day so they were scheduled the following day. Dillon and Shawn arrived and spent quite a bit of time and found 3 leaks. Dillon also showed my husband the motor on our old furnace and said it was getting to the end of its life. Company X said it would probably go another couple years (it was 21 years old). Our new furnace is installed (thank you Johnny and Andrew) and we are pleased to be Seatown customers. The entire team was so professional and treated us like they cared. They say “service out of this world” and they are not joking. The difference between Seatown and other companies is amazing. I felt like we were taken care of and everything was done to code and guarantied. We highly recommend."

"Great experience working with Colin on installing a gas line for our kitchen. We got three bids and theirs was almost the lowest but I got such great vibes from Colin it was an easy choice. Looking forward to working with them again!"

"Very happy with everything. The entire crew was responsive and they left the house and yard very clean. The work was scheduled and done quickly. The guys actually found issues with some of the duct work not being sealed properly so they addressed this when putting in the new furnace as well as a leak in the gas valve. I'll continue to work with these guys to service the furnance and use them again when I need to replace my water heater."

"Our tenants called us at 9 PM the week before Thanksgiving to tell us there was water dripping into the garage. My usual plumbers were all out of town! I called TM Plumbing just to see if the phone number worked so I could call them the next morning. I was surprised when Terry picked up and took the time via multiple text photos to help us narrow down the likely cause over the phone so the tenants wouldn't do anything to cause further water damage. He squeezed us in the next day to more accurately diagnose the problem. Due to scheduling issues with my tenants and Terry needing to coordinate with an assistant, he wasn't able to get the work done until two weeks later. This was fine as the tenants had other bathrooms they could use so it clearly wasn't urgent to them. Terry cut a hole in the garage ceiling to gain access to the pipes. He did a nice, clean job covering the hole with a board so we opted to just leave the board rather than finding someone else to redo the drywall. This way the pipes can be accessed in the future. The tenants are happy. We're very satisfied and would definitely call him again!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Bellevue, WA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
