"Kenny spent several hours digging through roots and mud to find the leak in a broken elbow, which he replaced. Kenny worked hard for hours, but remained professional and courteous throughout. He charged honestly for his time, and the time of two helpers that Butler’s was able to send. I consider the cost of this repair to be very reasonable considering the level of effort needed."

"We can't say enough about our technician Mark that came out to help us. We had just got married and moved into our new home and smelt gas. We were scared and didn't know who to call. The gas company directed us to call a plumber. We called three other companies first and no one answered. That was not the case with Mr. Rooter. They answered our phone call right away and got someone out to us that day. Mark was excellent. Highly recommend Mr. Rooter Plumbing."

"We purchased a new gas grill to replace a built- in gas grill.  The work was simple, probably could have done it ourselves but weren't sure how to treat the regulator that came with the new grill.  Vince with Imperial Gas came and made the new connection.  He removed the regulator that came with the grill and connected the hoses with the existing feed from our in-ground propane tank.   <br /> He arrived at the appointed time, finished the work in about 15 minutes and left.  The impressive part was that he knew we were having a large crowd for a cookout that evening  and attempted to followup by phone, not once, but twice to make sure everything was ok with the gas grill. <br /> Would definitely call on Vince again if we ever had an issue pertaining to gas piping. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Bluffton, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
