"We had an old paver patio whose wooden borders had decayed and the pavers had sunk around the edges. The cracks between pavers were full of weeds. Kelly put new borders around the patio, masonry blocks with decorative pavers on top. They removed the weeds, powerwashed the dirt from between the pavers, and added polysand to prevent further problems. It looks great and was a lot cheaper than the bids to replace the whole thing. Kelly worked with my wife to select the color for the border, which she greatly appreciated. His crew was conscientious, thorough, and friendly. Our dog really liked them! "

"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. We would definitely use Mottern again."

"The Job: We had JP Co. of Centreville knock out and replace our old, deteriorated and very long concrete driveway (762 square feet). Same with the carport area (72 feet by 10 feet). They also poured concrete to replace the old pavers that served as the sidewalk (about 25 feet long by 3 feet wide) that runs from the driveway to our front porch. They also replaced a deteriorated brick retaining wall that ran along the carport area, which was about 27 feet long by 25 inches high. We went with a timber retaining wall, which was a little less expensive than a concrete wall would have been, and was way cheaper than bricks or stones. We think the wood wall looks a little "friendlier" than concrete would have (but it will probably not last as long as concrete). The work: JP did an excellent job in all respects. They completed the entire project in two days, and it all came out very nicely. They also cleaned up, leaving no trace of a mess behind. We got three bids for the job, which were all fairly close, but JP was the lowest. And I was impressed with their customer reviews on Checkbook. Our contact was Paulo Nicola, one of the two brothers who co-own the company. A very nice, knowledgeable and helpful guy who was happy to answer our numerous questions and discuss alternatives and prices with us. Highly recommended. Note: we also had JP and two other contractors bid on this job about 5 years ago, but had to delay it when we saw how expensive it would be. Guess what that accomplished? Instead of paying $12,500 five years ago, it cost about $16,500 in April of 2023. So, my advice is: don't delay your concrete job if you can avoid it -- prices only seem to move in one direction!"

Quick and reasonable estimate, follow up visit before beginning the job, efficient and high quality execution of the task, topped with a friendly and pleasant staff. This was not a major project, loose bricks on steps and patio. Even so, we were treated as valued customers and would not hesitate to use them again. "The HD Exteriors teams delivered outstanding results in replacing our existing rear deck and front porch with beautiful TREX decking. At the same time, they replaced all of the existing railings with fully coordinated maintenance-free railing. Really nice ! They also did demolition of an existing brick front stairway [which did not meet our county's code for good reason], and they then installed new front stairs with railing and additional safety features for us "senior citizen" types. It all leveraged the same high-quality TREX; but the exquisite CARE they went to in beautifully designing [per up-front concept drawings] and installing was truly a wonderful and very pleasant surprise. Special cudos to Mr. Omar and his team !! There was also a new installation of fully coordinated (i.e., TREX tpp railing) placed atop of a wall [with significant drop-off hazard] which was TOP NOTCH work, and fit in perfectly with all of their other beautiful work, AND helped us to meet Fauquier County code for safety requirements. In addition, HD Exteriors replaced siding on upstairs dormer windows and provided perfect color matching. Finally we'd like to cite the excellent customer service that each of the HD Exteriors personnel provided from start to finish. On that point, we'd like to provide dditional special cudos: To Mr. Jerimiah C. at the front-end of sales, pulling together concept drawings, helping us understand options and warranties, and nailing down contract costing. Also cudos to Mr. Mike P. at the conclusion of the projects who came out to specifically do final end-to-end Quality Assurance / Walk-through. Everybody at HD were very professional, courteous, responsive, and timely -- always arriving within 3 -5 minutes of an appointment time, even when they were coming quite a distance to get to our home. You'll see that we have provided the highest rating to each of the teams of HD professionals [importantly, extending to all HD Office Staff !] that supported our project work.
