"Aaron at OnCall was very nice and professional. He had to do so much more than originally expected because of what happened to my septic tank. I thought it was just a broken pipe and it ended up being a total failed system. Aaron went above and beyond to get the right professionals out to my property to clean up the problem so he could do a thorough job fixing the plumbing issue. <br />"

"Great. Within 2 hours of my call the service tech arrived. He was pleasant and gave me options on resolving the problem. I decided to go with s new faucet head and piping as the original was at least 50 years old. I'm pleased with the service and recommend this company."

"I tried to replace my tub drain and it ended up being corroded and falling apart with the lower part stuck in the drain shoe. Rather than risk damaging the pipes and ending up with a huge problem, I decided to call Crew Plumbing and boy am I glad I did. First, I called around 5:30pm on a Friday expecting to wait until Monday for a plumber to show up. They were at my house within an hour (!) and had the old drain removed and the new one installed 30 minutes later. Kevin and his apprentice (Anthony I think) were incredibly polite, professional, and efficient. Having tried several plumbers in the area previously with less than stellar results, this was a fantastic and surprising experience. I found my new go-to plumbing service."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Columbia, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
