"The cleaning guy came and started cleaning using his Wire chimney brush by hand. Initially I asked him how come he was not covering the fireplace opening to prevent the dusts from coming inside the room. He assured me that his vacuum and drop cloths would be enough. Later I found out that the reason he didn't feel the need to cover the fireplace opening was because, he wasn't using any power tools to remove creosote collected in the walls although I mentioned to him that my chimney was not cleaned professionally for last 6 years since we bought the house but we did use the fireplace every winter. His simple answer was he doesn't like to use power tools and other techs in his company uses them and that is how he cleans the chimneys. So, I told him I watched at least 8-10 YouTube videos before I called his company and the said I shouldn't argue with him just looking at the YouTube videos because we hired him and he is the professional. He was rude and didn't have any sense of customer service. I just felt that he saw this job as another $ amount instead of a job he needs to perform well. I need to get some repair work done on my chimney as well. I do not feel comfortable hiring them to perform the service as I feel they will try to find short cut route from my today's experience. Update: Six Penny called me later after they saw my initial review and asked me very unprofessionally and offensively why I wrote the review."

"I paid $200 for a thorough cleaning and inspection of my fireplace . Didn’t know the ash box is not included in the cleaning . Ridiculous. It’s the nastiest part of the fireplace. They didn’t advise of this before the cleaning nor offered to clean it for an additional fee. Yes, I emailed asking why . Just that it wasn’t covered. Ripoff"

Initially, we wanted the chimney exterior brick cleaned plus a new cap to replace a screen covering the top of the flue. When Lenny provide us with "before" photos, as a result of cracks in the cement crown, we scheduled its replacement, also. "After" photos confirmed all work was done."

I rated them a C on responsiveness and professionalism specifically for an issue related to finishing the chimney cap in April when the weather conditions allowed for the repair. We financed the project over a six month period. I had requested that they provide pictures of the finished work including the chimney cap. Other companies we have used in the past provide before and after pictures. However, we were told that because they had already completed the chimney cap repair, they would not return to take pictures. It wasn't until we withheld the final payment that they agreed to return and provide pictures; only to find out that the work had not been completed. They were apologetic about the error in the paperwork, but I can't help thinking if we had not withheld the final payment, we would have been unaware that the repair had not been completed. I believe I would hire them again, but would have to make sure to verify the completed work."

The technician actively listened to my desires and provided detailed advice and options. For this project, we needed the chimney covers on two chase chimneys replaced and a reframing on one of them with rotted wood. Quality of Work: Stainless steel chase covers were powder-coated in black and caps and pipe painted to match. Thomas went out of his way to ensure we got the best looking result we could despite some hiccups on our communication on that end product. The result was very satisfactory. Pricing: Price was the best of three highly ranked Angie’s List companies and regardless, they price match. Chim Chim-Churee's expertise, practical scoping, willingness to explain the details of the project, timely communication, and excellent work took the hassle out of this project. Their willingness to ensure we got the product we wanted despite some miscommunications went a long way in building trust for future projects."

"They never answer when you call and you have to leave a message. They take forever to get back to you. We had them come to clean our gas fireplace and repair it, it worked for about a month then it stopped working. We called and of course had to leave a message, then called a second time and their mailbox was full, called 2 more times and they have never called us back. So we are out $250 and our gas fireplace is not working. I do not recommend this company, they have very poor customer service and don't warranty their work if it doesn't stay fixed."
