"They removed gas piping and replaced valves in vanity fixtures.. They also gave me quotes for later remodeling tasks. They were friendly and did a great job in spite of the "monsoon" we had today."

"He tried snaking from the roof vent. No go in twists and turns of drain. Then he worked from under the sink and success. All kinds of black sludge, as seen from outside master drain clean out pipe.. Recommended not using harsh chemicals in cast iron pipes, which we have. Chemicals can degrade pipes and turns food to sludge. He was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and even cleaned up after. No "sales pitch" but did give us good information. He is on the top of my list for plumbing servies."

"I am happy to share a POSITIVE experience with my fellow Corpus Christians. I am writing this report the same day the work was done. That is how satisfactory my experience was with Royal Plumbing of Corpus Christi. I live in Lamar Park and our house was built in about 1952.  The plumbing is copper pipe and I have several plumbing projects to be done but I started with a modest project to see how I liked the service of this company.  I could not be more pleased with the service that their plumber, Jake Carrier, provided to us.  He did a beautiful professional job on the actual work we had done but more than that, he also spent additional time advising us regarding other jobs we will need in the near future and doing estimates for different work.  He was not being paid for this time because they work on a per job basis, not hourly.  He took some time doing this and seemed genuinely interested in helping us.  So I mainly commend him for the work he did and the professional way he did it.  A small thing, he wore paper booties from the moment he entered our home and cleaned up after doing the work.  He was a pleasant and competent plumber and I will request Jake for our future work.  As soon as he left I called the company and expressed my appreciation and I feel this brief report is the very least I can do for the quality of work that was done for us and the price that was (with the Angie's List member discount of $25!)  LESS than what I expected to pay.  We are now ready for our new appliances.  Oh, did I mention that he also secured a loose pipe with a bar secured to a wall stud.  I give Jake and Royal Plumbing my highest recommendation.  WELL DONE!  James O - - - - -, Peerman Place, Corpus Christi, TX,"

"Owen Plumbing is our regular plumber, and have been out for jobs in the past. They are always available to come out on fairly short notice, and we generally get Jonathan, whom we just love. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and does a good job. At times communication with the office can be a bit frustrating, but we've never had issues with their service at our house. Not sure if the price for this work was good or not, as we did not go out for any other bids. On our first appointment they had to scope the line to figure out where the blockage was (we had roots growing through our old clay pipe), and there were two. They sent an estimate to replace two sections of the line, we approved, and then they sent a team of diggers to dig down to the pipe, then a pair to repair it, and then the diggers again to cover the pipe. Three visits. They didn't come out the day we initially expected them, so we ended up with two large open pits in our yard over a weekend, which we weren't that happy about. Also, the diggers dug two separate holes for the repair work leaving approximately two feet covered in between. Well had we known how close together the two bad sections were (we weren't home when they dug the holes) we would have just had them dig out the whole stretch and replaced a longer section rather than two shorter sections. Even the repairmen wondered why it had been done that way, so I think a little more common sense on behalf of the digging crew would have been nice. All said and done, we've had no issues with the line since, and we will continue to use Owen because of positive experiences in the past. <br />"

"I am remodeling my kitchen. After removing the existing cabinets, I noticed a slow leak behind the wall where the sink supply line is. I also noticed the new cabinet next to the range would not fit over the existing gas line. Since I did not know the schedule of the cabinet installers, I chose to pay overtime and call a plumber out on the weekend to ensure the area was ready for the next phase. Lamar was very responsive and showed up within a few hours. Joey repaired the hot and cold water lines that feed the kitchen sink, but they leaked again and he had to start over which took him into his second hour at overtime rates. The gas line had to be moved six inches to the right because it would be in the way of the new cabinet width. Joey moved it and the distance would now allow the cabinet to fit. During the next week while I was installing the new flooring, I notice the gas feed was longer than it was before he moved it. It now protruded over seven inches from the wall. Measuring the cavity behind the range, I found that it allowed only four inches. I called Lamar to come out and redo the fitting and they said they'd charge me again because I approved their work. I did approve the new distance, but had no idea he added a three inch nipple in the process. I called the office and they also said since I didn't supply drawings, and they did what I asked, they stood firm in charging me for the re-fit. Never did they ask me for drawings or ask the depth requirement for the range. I sent them on their way. Totally dissatisfied, and won't call them again. <br />"

"I could not ask for anything more from an after hours provider. They were quick to respond, quick to resolve the issue and resonably priced. I definitely recommend and will use in the future if a plumbing issue ever arises again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ingleside, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
