"Lanz was the highest of 4 quotes from local plumbers when I was looking to have multiple plumbing jobs completed, including the purchase and installation of a new water heater. I went with Lanz on the water heater only because they were quick to respond and were able to install it 2 days after my request. The Lanz rep, Ken, was very professional. On installation day, he had a younger guy helping him who seemed to struggle quite a bit and scratched up some furniture while bringing the new water heater in. He also left a large pipe in the yard that I had to dispose of. I chose to go with the least expensive water heater and still paid $1439.21 with Lanz. Others were significantly lower in price, but definitely not as quick to respond or schedule."

"Contacted Sunkel based on very good Angie's list ratings. The first day they were supposed to show up between 11-1. After 2:00 I wrote them off, then the plumber showed up at 3:15. No call. No explanation. He worked about 1.5 hours, charged $181, then left saying the leak was fixed. Two days later, I the leak reappeared. I called Sunkel back. They came out and said I needed a new faucet, but could not explain how the leak, which he said was fixed, reappeared. I had to go out and purchase a new faucet while he waited. They charged me an addition $200, saying that I received a "break" since he had been their twice. If he would of told me up front this was the only way to fix the leak, I would have got the faucet and avoided the extra cost and inconvenience. Needless to say, we will not use them again."

"Got a plug in the floor plumbing thinking the smell was from there. Smell didn't disappear. 4 months later we found an open connection hole on the vent stack. WE plugged it and since then, no more smell! ??✌️"

"Had sewer line cleaned and was charged $425.00 which was 3 times what we paid a different company for the exact same service three years earlier. Job took about 30 minutes and was done during normal business hours, on a week day, and was just a basic rotor rooter with no camera. Was shocked by the price and will not recommend to friends and neighbors unless they want to be overcharged. No problem with the workmen or service but do not believe their Yellow Page ad that states "No Outrageous Flat Rates". <br />"

"I had an excellent experience with J & J automotive services. I had a laundry list of repairs that needed to be done and very little time to do it in, because I needed to get back to North Carolina.  I was originally supposed to have the repairs done by a family member, so I had already purchased most of the parts I needed.  However, the family member never followed through with the repairs, which led me to the discovery of J & J by word of mouth.  Apparently they have an excellent reputation among the auto parts stores in the area.  So after Jeff took a look at the blazer, he agreed to just use the parts I already had on hand, but he said I was also in need of one wheel bearing and showed me why.  Thank God I didn?t attempt the drive back to NC on a bad wheel bearing!!!  Overall, not only did Jeff go WAYYYYY above and beyond to get my vehicle repaired in time, but he and his wife were also very friendly, caring, and took the time to fully explain everything to me. They take the time to get to know their customers, not to mention <br /> that they are also very affordable. I currently reside in North Carolina, but I have so much trust in J & J that I intend to continue bringing my vehicle back to them for any future maintenance each time I travel that way to visit family.  It's been almost a month since I left Illinois, and my vehicle is running like a dream for the first time in over a year! One VERY happy customer right <br /> here!!! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"His name is Mike Hardwick. The service was excellent. He was a knowledgeable guy. He was real nice to talk to. He actually found that there had been some type of issue with water behind it. It was a leak of some type and he made sure that I was aware of it. He basically troubleshot the problem with the old one. He recognized that if it had been done right before it wouldn't have leaked. He showed me exactly where it did leak before. He put in the new one and made sure that he showed me that he had it fixed correctly. He was a nice guy and good to talk to. He wasn't trying to sell anything. He was a good guy. We didn't spend anything because it was covered through the home sale. He came out within a couple of days. We had no problems at all."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lexington, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
