"We ordered a Covana SwimSpa cover back in July or August of 2021. They finally received the product from the manufacturer in March of this year. When the installation team came to put it all together they realized that the person who had placed the order with the manufacturer had missed the fact that the cover was slightly too large to make a proper seal. The installation guys, who were great by the way, said they would work with All Spa to get is sorted out (new parts to make it work). Anyway, it's been a month and the thing is still sitting half assembled in my yard. Keep in mind that this is a $10K cover left partially assembled and covered in a tarp. I've made 5 inquiries via phone to All Spa to at least get a status update but have yet to respond. It really just speaks to a major lack of professionalism to not even have the decency to let us know the status of what is going on. I don't usually leave reviews like this but I think that this certainly warrants a 1 star review."

"We are happy with the overall quality of the job, but it was frustrating and painful getting there. There was zero communication unless we initiated it from start to end. The job started late and took much longer than we were told it would. It wasn't surprising that it took so much longer since workers were not here full time, barely half time. We expected them to be onsite daily once the job started, but we were lucky if we had anyone working three days a week and they were never full days. Days would go by without anyone onsite. We would make phone calls to find out what was going on and there was always some excuse. The work crew left an ever-growing junk pile in our backyard which the owner Rick finally had hauled away once we asked him to toward the end of the job. We were surprised to learn at the very end of our project that painting was not included. It would have been nice for Rick to let us know that painting was not included in our bid so that we would have been able to plan accordingly. Instead we were left in the middle of the rainiest month of the year to try to protect the wood on our new patio cover until we could get a painter lined up. It also added an unexpected $2,500 to the job which would have also been nice to know too. What made it worse is that we discussed the painting portion several times with Rick throughout the job and there never seemed to be any question about it being part of the job until the very end. I do have to highly praise the "other" Rick, however, who did all of the woodwork on the patio cover. He was the best part of the whole job. He was a hard worker who produced quality work and a great person to work with. Once he started the job wrapped up quickly and he made sure we were happy with the work he did. As a side note, no portable toilet was ever onsite for the work crew for what became an almost 2 month job."

"We would recommend Alex Peters' company, Sequoia Stonescape, to anyone who wants the best at a reasonable cost. We worked with them in a joint project with Kaufman Homes to redo our front entrance. Kaufman's crew rebuilt the deck and Sequoia's crew removed the extensive rotting wood retaining walls and planters, concrete steps and walkways and aged stone patio. Then Sequoia replaced the old with modern clean lines in classic stone materials while managing the drainage issues, the irrigation system and adding built-in lighting to the stone steps and along the walls The members of the crew were always professional, arrived punctually, attended to potential safety hazards and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day's work. Earth moving equipment was used to prep the site for drainage and support and each piece of the project was installed with a watchmaker's precision. The crew's outstanding work ethic was obvious and garnered praise from observers as well as the other company's crew. Alex was available daily and responsive to any requests and modifications and offered suggestions to customize to our specific needs. Skilled crew members, Brant and Ethan, were helpful and considerate in all interactions and went the extra mile throughout the project. (Thanks, guys) The results are dramatic and add value to our home as well as pleasure to our lives."

"It took forever to start. We were already upset with the company even before work started but we couldn?t back out. Their vehicles repeatedly blocking neighbors, material delivery blocking very important access to our garage, design change to stairway suggested by their designer is a constant headache. The deck wasn?t the right size. Project manager rarely supervised work and was repeatedly done incorrectly. They even had to tear off the surface and start over a couple times. They used wood that was already splintered. They kept adding money to the final total and expected payment immediately but when they owed us they had no record of the proper calculations. The backyard was a muddy mess because they started during the rainy season even though that?s when the project should?ve been finished according to their timeline. We signed the contract in May. Unhappy with the current state. The permit is still open and they ignore contact from the city. "

"The job could not have gone any better. Chris met my wife and I at our home and listened to our ideas. We discussed our budget and then walked the property with him. He explained in great detail his vision and was patient in translating it to us. We received two other quotes, both were comparable in price. We chose Merten and Son's because they were able to respond quicker, but more importantly their start to finish date were estimated to be half the time of the others. From the time the project started to the completion we were thoroughly impressed. Jarod was attentive to our concerns and quickly relayed solutions to the crews. The crew that did the installation was incredible. It was impressive as we watched in awe the pace they worked at and precision that went into every detail."

My name is Grayson. I have been a Custom Home Builder in the Pacific Northwest for 21 years, and the story of my business is long, on quality and integrity. During this time, I have completed thousands, of too-many-to-list here, eye catching projects in and throughout Clark County, Washington, and surrounding areas. With a positive attitude, I work with customers, first listening to them; then incorporating their ideas, with my own talent‘s, skill’s, knowledge, experience, and creativity.\n\nThen I go to work on completing a finished project, whereby we can both be proud. This a win-win situation for both of us, and makes for a great working relationship.

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Longview, WA

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
