"My mother recently became mobility limited and was unable to step into her tub/shower combo. I purchased a prefab accessible shower unit, sliding doors and fixtures from a big-box store with the hopes that a family member would install it. Instead, the unit (which was delivered assembled!!!) sat in mom's driveway for a month. I finally decided to have a professional install it and I'm so glad I did! Joel called me very quickly after I requested a quote and he did a site visit the next day to see the existing setup and the new unit. He explained that the unit I'd bought would be great for new construction and that it would be a challenge to get it into the alcove of the smallish bathroom but he was confident they could make it happen. We agreed on a price that was very reasonable, considering I asked them to not only demolish and remove the old tub, surround and fixtures but to also replace the 40-year-old plumbing inside the wall. They started demo on Tuesday morning and mom had a beautiful new shower Wednesday afternoon! I am soooo pleased with the quality of the service and the workmanship; Joel and his guys were absolutely wonderful and kept me posted at critical steps along the way (I'm 250 miles away and could not be onsite due to the whole coronavirus thing). I would definitely hire Joel again and the only thing I would change would be to start with him instead of buying a unit from a big-box store and then trying to get it installed. The team created a graded area inside of the tub, with the tiles we selected so that the water could flow out easily and not stay in the shower. "Well. I don't even know where to begin. I guess I will start with pricing - most people care about that foremost. Ariel is owner and GC and he isn't the cheapest but he is not the most expensive either. You will definitely find cheaper - but he's worth it. With this contractor, I was being harassed to hurry up and bring my stuff so he could finish! Can you believe it - instead of the contractor disappearing for days at a time and missing deadlines and making the job last forever, he did a complete remodel of my home in 2 months. I mean this was a complete gut job in 2 months! My uncle is a retired roofer and builder and he was on the job checking them every 2 or 3 days. He would just show up and walk around watching the guys and he said they were doing a good job. He was amazed at the number of guys on the job site - like 10 people at a time. Ariel was there daily and the people he had there were knowledgeable as well. The finished product is spectacular. When people walk into my house - its "wow" this and "wow" that. My home is amazing and well made: the floors, the plaster work, the plumbing, the electricity, the A/C - good solid work. But let me tell you why he is truly one of a kind and why I will never work with another contractor: He finished the job in March 2020 and I didn't move in until August 2020. When my son took a shower, the tub was not sealed around the tile and there was a leak. I was freaking out because he was all paid up and it was 5 months later. I called, he picked up the first ring and I told him what happened and he was there the next morning! I was so relieved and grateful - he fixed the issue without hesitation. This man stands by his work - very rare! I hired a cheaper guy to do a smaller job in my house and he destroyed my home. I had to call Ariel back and he graciously made time for me (he is an extremely busy man). I ended up paying for the cheaper guy and Ariel - its a lesson: I should have just hired Ariel.
