"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to
write this review so that the request to write this review stops
popping up.
The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

"Wonderful! Great team. Would have liked to hire again but the only thing is that the owner died. When I called for some additional work I needed. So, not sure who is taking over for him. So, just beware that the owner has died."

"I was kinda of disappointed with the quality of work,, I needed a water line installed for ice maker on my refrigerator. The guy was on time and very nice, he told me that he would have to put a couple of holes in my ceiling and I said ok, cause I was thinking small round holes. He was at my house over 3 hours, and I kept saying to myself that he must donâ t know what he doing. I didnâ t think it would take that long for that. After he finished and I went and looked at it, I was like oh my goodness, holes cut through the wall and through my ceiling and not small holes either. He tells me that I have to get someone to cover the holes in the ceiling cause he doesnâ t know anything about sheet rock. I can look up in my ceiling and see outside, I donâ t see why I have to pay for something he did, I was very disappointed about that part of the job, but I did get the waterline installed and I am still out of money trying to get those holes patched up. I am not saying the company is bad or all the workers, some may need to be retrained on some of their job descriptions."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Monroe, LA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
