"I hired Abe Lincoln Plumbing to replace about 60 ft of sewer pipe. Paul, the owner of Abe Lincoln promptly contacted me from my Home Advisor request (I received calls from 3 different companies). Paul came out to my home and cleared my sewer pipes of root intrusions and found problems with the pipes after scoping the line. Paul's conclusion that the pipe needed to be replaced was confirmed by the other companies that also came out to provide their diagnosis and work estimates. I chose Paul over the other companies because he was very forthright on the repairs and his estimates were competitive. With the exception of the delay getting the repair inspected, all the work was performed as planned. Paul was very pleasant to work with and he took the time to explain the work to be performed. "..I understood that there would be overtime charges because of weekend and the time of day. I shut the water off to the house and didn't want to wait overnight and try to get someone on a Sunday. The plumber arrived earlier than some of his other scheduled jobs to take advantage of what sunlight remained. He explained that the pvc connection was made incorrectly and that was the cause of the leak. He removed the section of pipe that ran from the service entrance shut-off valve to the pipe that led to my backyard hose bibs. The section he removed contained another valve that shut water off to my backyard.  <br /> He was installing the new section when I noticed that it didn't contain the valve to shut-off water to my backyard. (I usually have the water shut-off to the backyard except when I need it because I don't want to have to shut off water to the house when repairing leaks in the underground pipes or the hose bibs.) When I questioned the plumber about  this, he muttered, "customers!" and went to his truck for a valve which he then installed. <br /> My problem with Garrett is that the quality and professionalism you get when you call for service varies with the person who shows up for the job. I've noticed this from past experiences. For that reason, I'm looking for a plumber with consistent quality employees. For this job, I believe the plumber was probably well qualified, but I believe that he should have installed the same type of hardware that he removed (the shut-off valve) before proceeding. <br />"

"Highly recommend! Anthony was EARLY, polite, treated me w/ respect! That man spent ALL day (he had to dig up my old pipes in my yard and reroute) making sure the job was done properly. He identified the problem in minutes! … he’s the water whisperer, my front yard was flooded and he spotted the location of the leak quickly. They were the only company that was able to send someone same day for my plumbing emergency!!! And was 1 of 2 companies that called me after requesting an estimate from all the professionals listed. Anthony would also explain what steps he was taking and any hiccups he faced. All done in a respectful way. I prefer to know what’s happening without hovering over him, and he did exactly that. "Problem: Leak in water pipe in circa 1958 home. I was able to schedule my repiping within a week of consulting with the plumbing projects manager Stephen McCann. A work crew of 3 showed up at my house promptly at 8:30 a.m. and worked straight through until nearly 6:00 pm. All the gentlemen were polite and completely professional. They divided up and went about their business in different sections of the house and got the job done! I went from having no water in the house for 3 weeks, to now having water! They will be back in 2 weeks to do a tub to shower conversion for me. (I had to special order the shower and it won't be in until the 19th, or that would have been done at the same time)."
