"Mountain View plumbing came out to look at my water heater that was leaking, they found that the water flexes were both bad and the water heater nipples were rusted and leaking as well. They gave me a estimate for a brand new 50 gallon gas water heater with all needed accessories and a thermal expansion tank for half of the price of the other three plumbing companies that quoted me for the same product and work. The customer service this company provided makes me feel safe and comfortable calling a professional for any plumbing needs in the future."

"Contacted them on a sunday and they had someone out on Monday morning. Cleared clog and also inspected pipes in crawl space and discovered a section of pipe that looked too level. Called their office and they are sending a scope operator out today to inspect. That's responsiveness and customer service!"

"Christopher Robert and his partner Dave came in to do our plumbing on October 11, 2010 and did a great job! They were professional, knowledgeable, and thorough and were able to answer other plumbing related questions. Very friendly people and I would highly recommend them to our friends. And the pricing was extremely reasonable -- more than half of what another plumbing company quoted us!"

"I live in Tucson Arizona andI just want to say that I haven’t had any work done by J&M, but if I lived in the Oregon or Washington area I wouldn’t consider anybody else. I’m trying to get an underground gas line installed. I searched all over the web and found J&M, and after reading everything about Jeremiah and his company I emailed him a question. He called me back and thoroughly explained all my different options and was extremely polite professional and a pleasure to talk to. He even referred some companies in the Tucson area for me to contact. In this day and age it’s a pleasure to find a company and somebody like Jeremiah who has that kind of integrity."

"Our gas fireplace had not worked for 17 years. We've had specialists come by and try to fix it... but, the fire would only stay lit for 30 minutes or so. Phil came and got it working and looking great, but, again the fire went out 10 minutes after he left. As soon as I called, he turned around and came back. Spent another hour tightening and cleaning lines. We then tested the fire and it stayed lit all evening. Thanks Phil!!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Oregon City, OR

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
