"I had The Sprinkler Company come out and do a spring turn on and some repairs. I was a new customer and spoke to Andrew in the office and he was very professional and walked me through the process of what the technician would do when he arrived. On the day of service, the technician explained everything that he was doing to repair my system. He was very nice and courteous. The company was so accommodating, I made sure to use them to winterize my system as well and will be using them in the future. I highly recommend The Sprinkler Company."

"I have used John for years now, everything from a large kitchen remodel, installing new hardwoods, to smaller jobs like this one. He (and his son Bryan) always do a great job. I have come to particularly enjoy his honest input. He will make suggestions that produce a better outcome for me, even if it will end up making him less money."

"I was very happy with the solution Alden came up with. I had spoken to another landscaping company and an engineer, and their solutions were not feasible. Alden's solution was both reasonable to carry out and effective. His solution had three parts: adding soil to change the grade so that water would run away from the house, adding an exterior drain pipe to catch the water and deposit it downhill from my house, and removing a brick flowerbed that was trapping the water so that it would not flow away from my house. The drain pipe was installed at ground level and just empties out onto the hill beneath my house. This was so simple I am surprised this did not occur either to me or anyone else. (I did not mind losing the flowerbed since I am not a gardener and honestly it just added another chore I was glad to be rid of.) Alden also noticed that my outdoor AC unit was about to topple over and added soil to level out the ground beneath the pad on which the AC rested. In general, I found Alden to be experienced in rain and groundwater management, creative in coming up with solutions, professional, and easygoing. His workers were nice and worked efficiently. And I am convinced that this is the best way for most homeowners to effectively waterproof their basement -- using soil grading and ground-level drain pipes to keep rainwater running along the ground away from the house; I think this is more effective and less intrusive than interior water proofing, and that the common method you see of digging to the foot of the foundation and installing the drain pipe there, then backfilling with gravel is unnecessary unless the water problem is that it is actually coming up from below ground rather than that it is running along the ground toward the house."

"The owner answered and said he'd be here by 1:30. He was early and that was great. He quoted me a price to clear the clog and sell me a new cap for my clean out. He explained what he was doing and how to prevent it from happening again. I would use them again in the future if I need a plumber. The price was a lot less then the big name companies quoted me. I am very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber in the area. Cost was $175 for clog and $10 for a new steel cap. $197.30 with taxes"

"We had a wonderful experience with Evergreen Irrigation. I am writing this review approximately 9 months after having the system installed, so I can confidently speak about our overall and complete experience. I initially called them and left a voicemail back in May, 2014. Within 10 minutes, I received a call back from the owner and we scheduled a free on-site estimate a few days later. Chris showed up on time and walked our yard, took some measurements, and discussed some of our basic options. Within 24 hours, he had emailed me a formal estimate with the exact details of his proposal. The design he came up with met all of our needs of not only watering our lawn, but also our very large landscape beds surrounding our existing Paver Patio. I was so impressed with his professionalism that we didn't even bother getting a 2nd estimate. The price was very reasonable and we decided to move forward with the proposal. 3 weeks later, Chris and his team were on-site and began installing our irrigation system. It took them 2 full days and was actually very fun to watch. If I were to have attempted to do this myself, it would have literally taken all Summer and I would have completely destroyed the yard. This was done in 2 days with minimal disruption to our yard. Our system consists of 5 zones and approximately 30 sprinkler heads. We used to spend more than an hour after work every day watering our yard and landscape, and we still never watered the lawn properly (there were spots of the yard we always missed). Now, that job is completed for us without us ever having to lift a finger. Within a few weeks, our lawn had completely "healed" from the installation (several lines need to be run below ground during installation) and our lawn was lush and green and the envy of the neighborhood. We've actually found it very enjoyable to watch the sprinklers running. There is something very relaxing and therapeutic about it. We will often come home from work, sit on the patio and turn on the zone that waters our landscape. It's fun to watch and the plants are thriving. The control system is also extremely easy to operate and you can schedule it to run anytime you'd like. Chris and his team will make some recommendations on run times, but you can obviously adjust this if you'd like. Our system came with a rain and solar sensor that measures existing rainfall and heat conditions and automatically adjusts runtimes so as to not waste water when it rains or maybe provide a little extra water during heat waves. <br /> We are extremely happy with our decision to invest in a lawn irrigation system and couldn't have been happier with the service provided by Evergreen Irrigation. My wife thought I was crazy when I first told her I wanted to invest in an Irrigation system for our yard... now, she absolutely loves it. If we ever move or buy another house, I'll be hiring Evergreen to install another system for us. Chris (owner) even emailed me about 2 weeks after installation to see how things were going and see if there's anything we needed. The installation cost included all sprinklers, plumbing, parts, valves, installation, configuration, settings, and winterization for the first year and we will definitely be hiring Evergreen to open our system in preparation for this coming Spring. We are excited to have a full Summer of enjoyment out of our yard thanks to our Irrigation system this year. <br /> If you are considering an Irrigation system for your yard, hire this company. You will not regret it. <br />"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Philadelphia, PA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
