"My old hot water heater began leaking and was flooding my basement. Someone from the company called me back almost immediately and walked through shutting off water/gas to the tank and getting the tank draining outside. They were out early the next day and quickly got the old tank out and a new one installed. Very professional, prompt, courteous service at a good price. Highly recommend."

"It went well! Matt and TC at Plumb Life ATL are very professional and communicative. Matt called the day before to let us know when the plumber, TC would be arriving. On the day we were scheduled, TC called an hour before he was scheduled to let us know when he'd be arriving. TC was very punctual and determined to find the source of our water leak. He removed the water heater in less than no time. Then he explained to my wife and I that he needed to cut into the wall to find the leak. He then neatly cut into the wall and found rusty nails all throughout our piping. He removed the damaged pipe and neatly installed new piping in that area. We no longer have a water leak issue thanks to TC and Matt. Matt was also very communicative from the onset to the conclusion of the work. We highly recommend their services. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. "A+ service and work. My home warranty refused to hold up their side of the bargain and we were forced to find a water heater we could afford and were lucky to find American Service Specialists! They gave us the best quote by 400 dollars and did quality work. This allowed us to get a spigot (which was also the best price I have received on it) installed!  They are now our plumbers for as long as we may live here in Georgia! And we have gone through a few here so we are happy to have one more professional we can call on when needed!

FAQs for water heater repair or service projects in Roswell, GA

Warning signs include fluctuating water temperatures, a pilot light that repeatedly goes out, unusual noises from the tank, or complete heating failure. You might also detect a rotten egg smell, indicating a potential gas leak, or notice water that never reaches the proper temperature. If your water heater is over eight years old and displaying these symptoms, the gas valve is a likely culprit. Professional inspection is recommended, especially if gas odors are present.

Water heater gas valves are not universally interchangeable. Each valve must match your specific water heater's make, model, and specifications. Important compatibility factors include gas type (natural gas vs. propane), BTU rating, connection types, and physical dimensions. Using an incorrect valve can result in poor performance, premature failure, or dangerous gas leaks. Always consult your water heater's documentation or a professional plumber to identify the appropriate replacement valve for your unit.
