"Had an amazing experience with the crew of Deâ Angele Landscape & Construction.  I hired them to construct an outdoor patio. They worked very systematically and I did not have to tell them anything. I am so glad that the entire work got completed very smoothly."

"<strong>An Exacting Carpenter for Exacting Clients</strong> <br /> In an industry that can seem pretty seedy, Marcello restored my faith in general contractors. <br /> After being burned by several builders, we decided to play GC ourselves. I called Marcello for an estimate: rough carpentry in the gutted four-season room of our 19th-century home. Within 24 hours, Marcello and his man Jared came out to hear our vision for the space. They listened and offered sound advice, and they refrained from pressuring us to go whole hog. (They split the estimate into rough work and the whole room.) <br /> Marcello was flexible and agreed to work within our budget to earn our business. <strong><em>Then he set about earning every future house project we do. </em></strong>Here's the breakdown... <br /> <strong>Materials & Scope</strong> <br /> Marcello replaced our floor with top-of-the-line lumber (ProWood), poured three concrete footers, furred the walls and furred and strapped the ceilings, removed a 13-foot load bearing wall, and installed a custom-made LVL and steel and concrete lally columns. <br /> He then replaced rotted sill plates and hauled off extra junk I had in my yard <em><strong>, items not in the original contract. </strong></em> <br /> The workspace was sealed off and red rosin paper was placed on the floors. Cleanup was immaculate. <br /> <strong>Marcello's Men</strong> <br /> Tulio and Tiago are consummate craftsmen, and they've been Marcello's right-hand men for years. When they encountered a serious snag - a roofline that dipped below the new LVL header - they convened with Marcello and came up with a labor-intensive solution that few woodworkers could pull off. They furred the LVL (easy) and then ripped 2x4s to build out the rafters from 0 at the eaves to 10 inches at the peak, leveling them every inch of the way up. The detail cost them an extra day of work. It cost me nothing. <br /> Oh, and don't mind the singing and laughing in Portuguese. These guys love their job. <br /> <strong>Marcello's Responsiveness</strong> <br /> Call with a question, leave a message, get a text 10 minutes later saying, "I'll be there in 10 minutes." This was not a major project for Marcello, who builds 10-story buildings, but you wouldn't know that by his attentiveness. <br /> <strong>A Contractor for Life</strong> <br /> If you haven't figured already, I am the most exacting (read: anal retentive) customer in Massachusetts. I ask too many questions, check in with my contractors way too often, and demand perfection from the first nail to the last brushstroke. <br /> Marcello is my GC doppelganger. You won't find a more perfectionistic, patient, and flexible contractor. I only hesitate to sing his praises because he might become too busy to work for me, but I somehow doubt that. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My fiancé and I reached out to Justin for help when our previous arrangement for cutting the excess pavers on our patio fell through. Having seen his company's beautiful hardscape through Everything Mansfield, I knew that Northeast Hardscape & Masonry was capable of this small job, what I didn't expect was the amazing customer service, professionalism, and kindness that we found once we reached out to Justin. He was extremely responsive and sympathetic to our situation, and within a few days he had one of his employees, Mark, out to our house to cut the pavers we needed. In less than an hour, Mark made our backyard project square with clean edges. He also gave us pointers for finishing the job and advise for final touches. I will recommend Justin, Mark, and Northeast Hardscape & Masonry to anyone in need of a hardscape project, and we expect to use them in the future."

"Emerson and his crew were amazing.  As an architect myself, I know it can be difficult to find the right contractor for a job.  Emerson worked on my own home, and we would recommend him to anyone.  His crew was extremely professional--they arrived on time, worked very hard all day, and left the site clean and safe.  On the few occasions we noticed a problem with the work, Emerson had already spotted it and had informed his crew how to correct it.  One evening, we watched the crew laying pavers from our upstairs window until about 8:00 pm--they were determined to finish that day--but they cut no corners and the last section completed was as good as the first.  We then (with difficulty) convinced them to have a burger (we were grilling) before hitting the road--they deserved it!  Emerson knows how to build a good project and how to run a business.  We wish him every success! <br />"

"This was my first major "home project" so I went into it with a bit of trepidition, but I had a great experience from start to finish w/ Premier Pavers.  Some people here mention Ian gave them a "hard sell", but I had just the opposite view.  Of all the contractors, he spent the most time w/ me in the design phase and seemed to show the most interest in obtaining my business.  His price for the patio was roughly in the middle of all the quotes that we got which I thought was a good sign.  We were doing our research in Summer '10 and didnt want to start construction until Spring '11 which some contractors had an issue with, but Ian had no problem.  We signed a contract in Fall '10 w/ a good faith deposit and his crew were out at my house in early April '11 for construction just as we had agreed. Ian had a great crew at our house led by his project manager Mike.  They were dilligent, courteous and you could tell they took a lot of pride in their work.  All the work was done as I expected and they were very open to discussing any changes or concerns I had.  Likewise, Mike was very open and thorough when explaining any change orders, which there were some, but nothing that I would consider to be more outrageous than I expected.  In the end the job was done almost at budget and in less time than expected and beyond my expectations in terms of quality and output - which is all one could ask for.  Many people on here mention "a hard sell" from Ian, but if you aren't trying to gather more business as a small business owner than you don't care enough about your company and therefore your work.  A good consumer can get past the sell and focus on what's important which is the price & the work - both of which I was extrememly pleased with with Premier Pavers. I would gladly recommend them and my wife and I are very pleased w/ our new patio and hope to enjoy it worry free for years to come!"

"We received an initial quote from Harris & Co. based on a recommendation from a coworker to replace a backyard deck with a stone patio. I received three quotes from various contractors. Harris's quote was the most expensive but I went with Joshua Harris's company anyway for the following reasons: * Joshua had a complete treatment that included landscaping (which ultimately I did not do), pavers, lowering of the ground, demolition, fire pit, and seating wall. * They were responsive, using text and email and replying promptly. * Joshua Harris had a better vision for the project than I did! He envisioned a wall, lighting, making the patio extremely large (due to the limited space in the backyard, he thought that leaving a bit of grass would be pretty pointless). Ultimately, it was the completeness of the vision that drew me to use his service. Since he does landscaping, lighting, and tons of stuff, Joshua will give you a pretty complete treatment. This costs you. I think that you get what you pay for, but it's something to keep in mind. If you have a budget, keep your discipline and see what aspects that you can go without! That all said, we went all out for this project and added a long wall, accent pavers, a large fire pit, and lighting. This was an extremely expensive project for us, but it's been worth it as the end result is rather beautiful and makes the space much more usable. Before, we wouldn't even leave out the back door because the deck was so small and the yard was so dreary, but the large 28' stone patio makes the space inviting and easy to walk across, even when we're not entertaining. As for the work, I was impressed by the amount of communication that was provided. They contacted me almost every day to let me know if they were going to arrive to work and informed me if circumstances (usually rain, sometimes illness) affected the schedule. Joshua was overall very professional. There were occasionally circumstances though that affected what could be done at any point - for example a certain model of lamp I requested wasn't available, so I had to get a different one; in another case one of the bulbs burned out and I had to reach out to get it replaced. The final thing is that Joshua follows through. The mulch for the back was delayed due to an inventory issue and I hadn't heard from him after the work for a number of weeks, but then he called me when the items came back in and scheduled the follow-up. The point is: if you need something from him, don't be afraid to reach out. The work was quite costly but I think that you get what you pay for and when you go with Harris & Co., you get a lot."

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Stoughton, MA

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
