"1st and Goal Pest Control did a great job. Chris was able to come quickly to remove a bird from one of my vents. He was polite, explained every step of the process that he was going to complete along with price and cleaned up everything when he was done. Most importantly he removed the bird and completed the needed steps to prevent birds from accessing any of my vents again."

"Contacted A-Academy regarding carpenter bees. They were professional on the phone and responded quickly Their pro in the field was knowledgeable, professional and did a great job. They have followed-up by phone twice to make sure the problem was resolved, which it was. And for a price less than I have been quoted. They will be my first call should other pest control be required."

Modern completely eradicated an ant infestation in March 2015.  In July, Modern came to do maintenance spraying to prevent ants.  All interactions with Modern have been professional and polite.  Modern personnel answered all questions thoroughly.  They are very knowledgeable about insects and how to deal with them safely with kids and pets.  Rescheduling was needed and Modern was very flexible in accommodating my schedule.

"The professional was informative and thorough. It was the time the bats were leaving. I let them leave and had a contractor fix the place they were living in so that they would not reenter."

"Allen Pest Management service was top notch, and very professional, the owner was very pleasant, confident and determined to put an end to the infestation of carpenter bees and wasps that was wreaking havoc on my garage and above my back door, making it impossible to enter and enjoy my deck and backyard. Itâ s been approximately 3 weeks and still no activity of any bees or wasps, my treatment plan is the best of the other 2 service providers that I had considered. Yes, I highly recommend this service."

With freezing temperatures finally upon us and a neighborhood with a squirrel population explosion afoot, we found ourselves with a pesky, persistent squirrel h***-bent on chewing its way into our attic via the roofline just under our gutters.  It was a corner of the house too tight for us to fully reach and effectively secure from inside the house, and too high and dangerous for us to reach from a ladder outside.  It was clearly a job to be done ONCE and RIGHT, A JOB FOR PROFESSIONALS.  Bewildered by the chewing and persistence, I left a message for Mr. Merritt on Wednesday, January 12.  He called me back within a few hours.  He was a delight to speak with.  He sent technicians Ray and CJ out early (8:30AM) the next morning, January 13th.  They had all the right equipment and expertise.  The hole was confirmed vacant.  They stuffed it with steel wool and shored up the hole with aluminum sheeting and screwed it on tight.  For the first time in about 5 days I could relax and not worry about listening for that awful chewing sound, neither running out of my house nor sticking my head out our attic window to shoo-away that darned squirrel.  These men did a great job.  The condition of our fascia board was in very good shape (not rotted or in bad shape to start with), so it was just unfortunate that the squirrel chose THIS SPOT to work so hard to get in.  We could not have done the job ourselves, safely or as efficiently as these gentlemen did.  They knew what materials to use, and they had it all ready to install.  They were able to a**** the situation and provide a remedy that would work well for us.  The job was done in about 45 minutes.  The charge was perfectly reasonable and I would certainly call them again if I had another problem.  I would also recommend them to everyone.

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Trenton, NJ

Bats slip through gaps as small as 1/4 inch, so your best defense is a thorough seal-up and a few simple habit tweaks. Start by caulking or screening every crack around chimneys, eaves, and vents. Swap dim porch bulbs for brighter LEDs or motion lights (bats dislike the glare), and consider an ultrasonic deterrent if they keep circling.

Finally, remove easy snacks—cover standing water and skip the nighttime bird-feeder refills. These steps go a long way toward keeping your home bat-free.

Standard homeowners’ insurance rarely pays for bat removal because insurers view it as routine maintenance. You might get partial help for guano cleanup or related repairs, but that varies by policy. Review your insurance policy carefully and contact your provider for a definitive explanation. Securing all entry points remains the homeowner’s responsibility to prevent future incursions.

The sweet spot for bat exclusion is late summer through spring. That window keeps you inside most state rules and protects baby bats that haven’t learned to fly yet. Removal activities are conducted when bats are less active, with some states permitting work from August through May and others ceasing removal in March. Consult a qualified bat removal specialist to confirm the valid timeframe for your area.

Spotting a dead bat can be unsettling, but a calm, careful approach keeps everyone safe. First, call your state wildlife office to report the find and ask about local rules. Snap a quick photo from a distance, then—wearing disposable gloves—place the bat in a sealed plastic bag for disposal as directed.

Wipe down nearby surfaces with disinfectant, wash your hands thoroughly, and schedule a pest-control pro to make sure no live bats (or harmful guano) remain hidden in the house.
