"Quick response to the Home Advisor notification from Vail Techs Mechanical and they were at my home the next day. They were very forthright in what was causing my heating issue and minimized the cost to rectify. Contacted me two days after their service call to check the fix."

Small jobs welcome

"Hydronix did several things for us, including venting, piping and ductwork. They were easy to work with and they did a great job. Their estimates were delivered timely and the work was completed on time and within budget. We added onto the scope a couple of times and there was no problem doing so. They are really capable and honest—they do the job the right way. I highly recommend Hydronix. "

"As aways, Chris and his associate were prompt, friendly and very helpful. I have my window swamp cooler removed from the window each Fall and have Coppersmith put it back up each Spring. I wanted it moved to a different window this time so they removed the hooks that hold the cooler from one window and installed them in another. Chris even offered to caulk the holes in the wall at the previous position but I said I would caulk and paint them.  He offered again before he left.  I've used Coppersmith for the last 9 years and have always appreciated their service. <br />"

"This is a very good, reliable plumbing company, but expensive. They seem to be able to fix problems that other plumbers in the area can't manage, and often fix problems other local plumbing companies have caused. <br />"

"Tim really saved me. I took on all the labor on my extensive kitchen and multiple bathroom remodel at my house, and benefited from Tim Lawrence's on-going help, advice and mentoring, as well as his plumbing expertise as the project went forward over a 6 week period.  Tim's work was always superb, as was his advice and help as I worked through demolition and installation of the new floors, cabinets, walls and plumbing fixtures.  He advised on the permitting process, helped find an expediter to help with that mysterious maze, and helped me find other contractors when I came across problems I didn't have the skills to do myself.  Through all of this, Tim was a source of encouragement and entertainment thanks to a quirky sense of humor.  In the end, his prices were fair and I never felt like he took advantage of my desparation when problems came along. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Vail, CO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
