"James was a complete professional.  He met with us for about 2 months on a weekly basis until we were comfortable with all of the details of the home, the budget, etc.  He got to work immediately. He is very creative and takes pride in his work. He managed all subcontractors, and any little detail we were not 100% pleased with, he had it corrected. He is very detail oriented.  Nothing gets past him.  We looked through lots of his open houses for about 5 years before we could afford to build and knew we wanted him to build our home when the time came.  The thing we are most impressed with is the quality and how structurally sound his homes are.  Our home is an Energy Star home, and we anticipate our energy bills to be minimal as a result.  Our third party home inspector commented that "You don't see houses built like this much anymore."  We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to build a home, do a remodeling or landscaping project or to improve the energy efficiency of their current home.  We plan to use him again as we add to our landscaping and when we get ready to finish our basement."

"In August 2012 this company installed four supports in the crawl space of a 100 year old home. This was necessary to replace support lost when the fireplaces were removed. We had them come back this year, May 2013, to install steel posts on the first floor directly above the previously installed supports. The steel posts carried the additional support upward and fixed the support of a header that was previously installed incorrectly by someone else. Besides fixing the supports for the header, they also repositioned it and beefed it up. This company works with you to come up with the best solution without going overboard. They don't try to oversell you, listen to what the homeowner wants, and work within your budget. This home has been gutted and is a work in progress. They are willing to break things down into smaller tasks and work with you. Ken Pohlman, the salesman and estimator for our area is great to work with. We will definitely be having them do more work as our budget allows. We have worked with two different crews and both were excellent. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. We didn't realize we could request a crew but will do so in the future. I don't remember the names of the first crew but this crew was Steve Johnson and Matt Pierce. We will request them next time.

"My parents contacted Halo to repair their front porch. James provided an estimate that was reasonable for the scope of work. The job was completed quickly and for the qouted price. After they left, my mother found that one side of the gutter was not done the way she had expected and there was also a slight leak where two sections of gutter were joined. She contacted James and he came back (the first day it was not raining) to finish out the gutter the way my parents wanted and to repair the leak. There was no additional charge for the second visit. My parents hired James again about a week later to handle some additional small repair jobs at their house and rental property. They are pleased with results.

"It went surprisingly quickly. Once we talked about design and settled on budget and price he, was working. The picture I found on my phone was after the first day of work. He and his crew completed my deck and built a roof on it in about four days, not terrible by itself but throw in that it was raining almost every day and... Let's just say I'm impressed. He got it done when he said he would and for the price quoted.. I would not hesitate to rehire him or refer him to anyone."

"Purchased coupon on August 11, 2011.  Because I was remodeling my kitchen myself after work and weekends, I didn't have time to deal with the creating the room drafts, plans, layouts or measurements she required.  I did contact Jill and explain the situation and she was very understanding.  She said because I contacted her, not to worry about the deadline.  I remained in contact with her over the next few years (that's how long it took me) and when I was ready around the start of 2014, she worked hard to provide her new design.

"We purchased the unlimited consultation package. Amanda is very friendly and professional. We struggled because we were looking for someone to consult with out of the box ideas. Once she understood our vision she could move forward, but innovation was not her strength. We paid an additional amount for drawings. These were detailed, and while not all changes were made as requested, we were able to get some value from them. In hindsight, I would not pay $99 for drawings. Any cabinet retailer will do these for you for free, which I did not know until afterwards. The company wants you to spend time telling them about your style, which ours is Country French. The first cabinet rendition we received was black expresso. We did a complete kitchen tear out so this may work fine for smaller jobs or if you have done this before. It just didn't work for us with distance and what we needed. I was able to find someone locally that sold the cabinets we wanted and she was a wealth of information and things moved much faster. Good luck to HMD. It's a good idea and the person we dealt with we liked personally."
